Freesat needs a dish , this is freeview so aerial only required and probably a decent signal / digital aerial
no deal
technical numpty here
i live in an area with no aerial signal so have got a basic freeview type setup with a sat dish.
can someone tell me if i can connect this so i can get the `dave` channel that is free on freeview
but not with a dish please
I'd get a decent local aerial engineer in. Best thing I ever did after messing around with countless aerials in the attic. Guy came out knew exactly what local signal conditions were like and what I needed to get a decent digital signal. Never looked back.
Or Michaela Tabb the lady who was refereeing the snooker final. Floats my boat.

streaming hd over wifi is iffy...prepare for buffering and stutter.. I tried loads of wifi solutions before eventually having to go with homeplugs.
If it is the usual capacitor problem with the Toppy, if you pop over to toppy.org.uk there are a couple of guys on there who will either sell you a set of new capacitors for you to install, or provide a repair service at a very reasonable price. No connection other than a Toppy user who had a failing Toppy, and now has a good as new Toppy due to their service.

Be sure to update the Firmware using this link: http://www.i-can.tv/en/component/content/article/15/252-how-can-i-upgrade-my-easy-hd-receiver
Will provide faster iPlayer access and TopUp TV functionality.
If you need iPlayer then the Freeview HD Humax T2 at £99 might be worth a punt (records to USB drives), or for cheaper, try the Technisat HDFV, no iPlayer, but Freeview HD and ability to USB record, but just one channel at a time....but its only £30 in Asda, or £35 from Currys.
At my old house the TV worked perfect there. I traced the fault to a dumb splitter which I then replaced with an attic booster to then supply 4 rooms.
