+1 have been using Humax for years and, in my experience, they are the best picture/reliability. The Manager's Specials at £74 delivered with a 1 year warranty are very good value for money and well worth the extra few quid over the likes of boxes like the one listed here.
There has been talk of a modded firmware update to enable internet / pvr function etc, though haven't been able to find any by googling. Anyone else know?
No, cable only or homepug (or Netgear wireless bridge thing)

The only downfall i can see with this, is that a rj45 connection is required. Where as wireless might have been a better option. As how many people have there broadband router, by there tv now?

It's not just freeview, it is freeview HD too, and is a good price for a freeview HD box, only slightly more than a budget freeview set top box.

Great HD, and you have HD ready box. Dont work.
Anyway HD, aint that great. You only notice the differance once you compare to screens side by side.
I know I should go for a Freesat box, but they seem to be a lot more expensive.

Not sure I understand you. A normal freeview box can be had for about £20, this is £8 more for a Freeview HD box, plus it has I-player. Agree with you re most stuff doesn't look much differeent but it does depends on your TV size, on a 40" TV and larger it is very noticeable on all HD channels (Even Eastenders looks good and there's very little fuzziness..) Football is much much crisper on HD, there's very little fuzzyiness around the players, even on my 32" screen.
