Can others verify this by checking within their app just in case it's a special offer for certain people please? The missus also had it coming up as £3.

Let me clarify.

This £3 add on is valid for existing customers on a tariff that was taken out before July 15th 2014 on price plans costing £9.90pm or more. So say you have a £10pm sim only tariff then you can add the £3 add on for unlimited data. If you have a price plan at say £6.90pm then you can't add the £3 add on. It's £5 for that.

So, anyone who took out a SIM only plan or upgraded after the 15th of July 2014 will NOT be able to buy this £3 add on. So say for example I buy a sim only plan today. This £3 add on will not exist at all.

You can't tether with this add on. £3 add on is contract term, £5 add on is 30 day rolling.

is tethering still limited? contract is up next month.. have a pretty new s4 so looking to go sim only, put off by the lack of tethering now but don't want to leave 3

I usually tether, just set my mobile as a wireless access point. Not done it for a year but don't see why it wouldn't or how they can stop you.

with 3 pound you will be paying till the end of your contract. 5.11 is for a month and you don't pay for the remaining contract but as my experience you have to give them a day notice to end the 30 day internet add on for this one.

It has always been three pound I think?

What so once you add this as an add on, you can't remove it until your contact finishes??

Just checked, tethering is limited to 2GB a month I think.

I now pay £12.90 a month for unlimited internet and texts, 600 mins.
#9
Is this 4G?
#10
I pay £15. 600 mins, unlim texts, unlim 4g data, 4gb tethering.

Is this only for people on contracts ?
#12
Handset contracts are limited as far as i know. Sim only are still unlimited (the One Plan)

This is for any data, 3G or 4G.

I'm on a month to month rolling contract with 3 and I pay £5 per month for a tethering add on and although I tether every day and use it quite heavily it never says anything but 1024mb remaining on my 3app and this has been the case for a couple of years same with a friend of mine so in reality its unlimited
banned#15
Well since adding the add on yesterday, I've used 450mb according to my phone settings and my allowance in my 3 app hasn't changed since applying the app, so whatever your allowance was before, it will still be on your account. it just won't ever decrease because you have the add on applied.
#16
Could you use for home internet?
#17
so if I sign up to the £10 per month for 600 mins and 1gb data I will be able to buy this add on for unlimited data for £3/pm?
#18
When I tether on my unlimited data plan I get kicked off if I tether a windows based machine and have to airport mode the phone and reconnect to the network.
#19
Yes I believe so. (answering to muise) My daughters are on the £6.90 tariff and I've added this for them when required.

This is just typical, if it came in yesterday it came in the day after I paid a fiver to add it on my daughter's phone!!

Didn't think tethering is allowed on the add on at all though? Can anyone confirm that part?

is reception bad on three? I'm tempting to join sim only soon because of unlimited 4G and also their policy of usage abroad.
#21
how do you add addons during the check out?

Reception on any network just depends on where you live/work

You'll have to find out by asking people or testing it out with a pay n go sim

So why is it saying £5 for some people and not others?

I've always found there coverage and internet speeds good, I've just moved over to GiffGaff ( O2 network ) as Three wanted me to have a higher priced tariff for renewal so i cancelled my contract at the time !
I'm finding similar phone signal coverage with GiffGaff now but very slow internet speed in comparison to what i did have with Three so im tempted myself to go back to Three now.

I travel with work, mainly north of Birmingham. I've found three to be much better than Orange and always have a reliable connection. I too was worried, so I bought a cheap three pay as you go sim to test the signal in places I visit most.

I have all you can eat data on 3 with free 4G where there is 4G signal. I get 4gbs tethering included with the all you can eat data.
#30
I used to love using my hotspot with unlimited data, sent my phone to get fixed and it came back with no hotspot. Any of you know a way round this?
#31
I'm on the one plan and have been for over 18 months on a rolling 30 day plan. I don't tether that often but would mine still be unlimited tethering or restricted? I haven't received any notification that the terms have changed since iboriginally signed up to it

Order a free SIM & try it out in your area.

Unfortunately 3 don't do UNLIMITED tethering... which you will find out if you hammer it, mate has been on 3 for years, and he got capped at 8gb.

I am happy with my contract, only teather on the odd occasion, and am off to the states in a couple of weeks and this was a deciding factor when taking the contract.

was previously on GG and to be fair the internet was terrible, I am glad I made the switch.

As others said, depends on your area.
For the rural area we cover, Three is very patchy, as is O2, but at least O2 can drop to 2G.

I'm on the £6.90 contract and it's still showing as £5. :(
#37
Anyone know what the cheapest pay monthly plan you can get this on? IIRC, the last time this was posted, it was said that you couldn't get this on the £6.90 a month contract.
#38
Can I get a PAYG 321 sim and pay £3 a month for unlimited data? Or is it contract only? (sorry if stupid question)
#39
bloody hell im paying 28 a month for unlimited data, 100... yes 100 minutes and unlimited txts. gutted I've seen this. saying that im on contract and runs out in 2 month

I am on the One Plan and came from Vodafone - I'd say the 3 reception is probably better. I can drive from Scotland to Liverpool with my data hotspot on and my kids connect to it in the back of the car and have a data connection pretty much all the way. There are places I can get no signal at all, ever - but that was true of Vodafone too.
