Writer and director Michael Moore (Bowling For Columbine) serves up a delightfully ludicrous political send-up brimming with madcap hilarity and side-splitting slapstick! Starring legendary funnyman John Candy, as well as Rhea Perlman, Alan Alda, Kevin Pollack, Rip Torn and Steven Wright, Canadian Bacon is one funny, acidic satire!

Faced with sagging approval ratings and disgruntled arms manufacturers, the U.S. President (Alda) decides to cook up a new Cold War … with Canada! And after a flood of media propaganda, Americans waste no time in ‘patriotically’ burning their ice skates and swearing off maple syrup. But when bumbling U.S. sheriff Boomer (Candy) and his hair-trigger deputy Honey (Perlman) decide to take matters into their own hands and lead a pre-emptive strike, they soon find themselves embroiled in a hilarious international incident that’s too close for comfort!

Suddenly Duncan Bannatyne makes his position clear: "You came on this show proclaiming that you had found a porcine product for less than one pound. Had this been the case then even the Wetherspoons bacon butty and a cup of tea for £1.49 would have been beaten .. however ... after seeing this product in the flesh ... I cannot actually see any pig-related content in this UK Deal - it wont work .. its ludicrous .. and for that reason ... I'm out."

Wasn't John Candy's last movie Wagons East. As he died on set? Only this one was released later. Worth £1 hot.

i thought that as well as i recently read an article about films with actors in them who were dead. they had to re-use a load of scenes in it from earlier on in the movie or something like that

Not to bad.
But a completely preposterous idea.
As if a US president would start a dodgy war just to improve sagging approval ratings.
