I find this a bit of a non starter. It doesn't replace the requirement for a traditional alarm - ie it won't automatically sound the alarm once motion is detected, it emails you a video of the movement so you can decide to sound the alarm or not. But by the time you've received, downloaded, watched and re-watched the video and decided you are being burgled, the thieves have most likely stolen the thing anyway. Once it's disconnected from the internet it's a useless paperweight. HD IP cams can be purchased from £15+ which can email you upon movement so you can then call the police!

Not to mention there is no battery back up so if someone just cuts the power from the outside, they get a free roam!

Do you have this? I bought it on Boxing day last year and think its fantastic. Watches over our front door and hallway and motion alerts come in almost instantly. It there's movement in our house when there shouldn't be, I'd activate the alarm within a minute.

No, I have multiple IP cameras costing a fraction of the cost of this. I can view all cameras at once, receive movement notifications almost instantly via email, have 2way Audio, the video is backed up to my NAS and Cloud. All at a much lower cost. The only thing I can't do is sound an alarm - but as previously stated, to disarm the alarm you just need to switch the plug off! Who would go and investigate a house alarm at a neighbours house that stops after a minute?

But if I've set the alarm off remotely, I'm not then waiting for my neighbour to hear the alarm. Im simultaneously going to be calling the police. I'd be interested to see a comparison of the video and audio quality you are getting compared to the canary. Also the wide lens on the canary is fantastic

All I'm saying is you don't need to spend £100+ to have this functionality. HD IP cams can be picked up from £15.That's a lot of premium just to set off an alarm that, by your own admission, you're not relying on

What if you are driving when it detects motion, you can't watch a video and activate an alarm while driving. Or if you are on the London Underground, by the time you surface your house would have been ransacked! I like the concept but it's flawed as a sole security measure.

I have 2 of these and find them amazing. very interesting to see what your pets get upto when your away and notifications are spot on. I'm tempted with this price to buy a 3rd but trying to see if John Lewis can price match as they offer as 2 year guarantee

HD IP cams from £15? Could you add some links to a few so I can check them out. Looking for a good IP camera.

Many on GearBest. I bought a 720p Sricam for around £13 in a flash sale. I also have the more expensive Foscam and 2 non brand clones which enable PTZ movement. Depends if you're happy with fixed camera or need to move them remotely. I'm sure I've seen bulk packs of 4 Foscam for £100 ish. Decent picture quality. Plenty of YouTube videos can verify

Discount of £15 off this (think it is only Amazon Prime customers)
Code is BABYGC16
Just ordered one myself and came through at £94.99. Was about to post this deal then realised it had been posted already (minus the code)
