Hi everybody,

(Click on go to deal to get the original thread)

Those of you who couldn't cancel your mobile contract due to orange saying u didn't qualify for cancellation despite using 07978 numbers, can now cancel your contract using CISAS service

All you have to do is raise a dispute with CISAS and explain them that you were eligible to cancel the contract but orange insisted that you were not 'eligible' and give them your orange itemised bill as ur proof and even some copies of letter to orange (if you wrote any)

You should ask for refund of line rental 15 days from the 1st day you gave them a notice to cancel or requested them to cancel

I got my contract cancelled and they paid me all line rental owed 15 days from my 1st notice.

I wrote about it in the original thread but it seems to have died now, so writing a new one to help everybody

Look at this thread for further info

Thanks

take it you would have still have to have called the 07978 numbers in the first place?
#3
Its still worth a try saying that you always intended to use those nos but couldn't do it because of changes in t &Cs and they should allow u to cancel
I only used them for 1 month
#4
hmm i would like to cancel mine but not sure how!!
#5
when did they change the terms and conditions? as i got an orange contract only 2 months ago
#6
It was with effect from 15 dec 07 but orange didn't allow everybody to cancel saying that they didn't used the minutes

But lots of people tried

This thread is for those people who tried to cancel at that time but weren't allowed to cancel their contract at that time.

They all can apply to CISAS now beacuse its more than 3 months since they 1st raised this issue

do i get to keep my contract phone?
banned#9
Would this also apply to O2 as they raised their call charges for 0870 numbers and "claim" to have informed all customers by a "text message". Some customers are still in disputes them and are using www.otelo.org.uk the communications ombudsman to assist.

Any further info would be great.

And t-mobile :(
#14
what about people who wanted to cancel but learned on here that orange werent allowing it. makes sense for them to breach their terms when they retain customers by lies and so make unfair changes whenever they want with most not able to do anything.

how to contact CISAS?
#15
hi Jatt,

can you provide more details?
I tried to cancel my contract since last Sept/Oct.. Sent Orange 6,7 letters, made 10+ phone calls to their CS... No success...

How can I contact CISAS?

thanks
#16
I must admit they have continued to be a pain for me.

Hate them
#18
I got my orange contract on 21st of december and badly don't want it anymore!! is there anyway I can get out of it?!!
#19
If appluying online do you use Orange Home Uk or Orange personal communication?
#20
Right that s mine in...
once more into the breech!!!!
Everyone complain so if nothing else they can lose some cash paying for all our investigations, as they must pay CISAS for everyone they do!..

I hate Rotten Orange!

Hi

Just apply online using link provided above and then send them an email with scanned proof of everything, like ur initial letters, itemised billing, reply from orange

I think even if you called orange once you can still give this a try

The CISAS website provides everything in detail and you use Orange personal communication as the main company u have the dispute with

Do Not Forget To Ask For Refund Of Line Rental 15 Days From The First Day You Gave Ur Notice As This Will Get You 4-5 Months Of Free Line Rental

Don't Worry Abt Handset, Its A Different Dept Who Deal With All This And Won't Bother

Good luck using the CISAS. As far as I'm concerned they're a waste of time.
I asked them to help me sort out a problem that I've had for 7 months with overcharging by Tiscali and within days they wrote me a condescending letter rejecting my application, it seems without even looking at the evidence that I provided.
It seems that if the company doesn't think there's a problem, you've got no chance with the CISAS getting involved !!
#26
I can see where you are coming from. Its whether they want to get involved as to whether they will help

Saying that , CISAS have declared what Orange are doing to be wrong therefore ANYONE who can should attack orange via CISAS to show this git of a company, that they cant get away with this !!
To quote from the song

".FIGHT!........FIGHT!!.....FIGHT!!!...."

Hi

With CISAS you have to follow up the procedure as per their guidelines

1) Raise a complain with company,

2) get a letter of deadlock or wait for 3 months

3) Apply to CISAS as soon as you get letter of deadlock or after 3 months with all your proofs

So is it too late to start this process now, for someone like me, who didn't raise a complaint with Orange initially? I read about it on here, and presumed as it wasn't working for anyone else, it wouldn't work for me.. so I shouldn't bother. Can I complain about it now, and apply to CISAS in 3 months?

If you never called or raised any issue/complaint with orange initially, I don't think you can go ahead with CISAS as per their rules and you can not raise this issue with orange now cos it has to be done in 30 days from the time they inform u abt changes in T&Cs

I dont know if I have acopy of the original letter that I sent to orange, can I still complain to them?

back in November I sent them a letter asking to cancel my contract under these conditions and also asking for a letter of deadlock if they didn't agree. I sent it via recorded delivery to the correct address.

However they didn't respond so I just left it. Would the recorded delivery slip be enough proof that I tried to end the contract?

More than enough, along with a copy of the letter
#35
Thanks. I'm afraid I can't find the letter. I think I deleted it from my hdd.
#36
I'll let you know how i get on. I genuinely did use these numbers for ringing abroad, if they charged something like 1p a minute i wouldn't have minded. The country we need to ring is usually the most expensive, probabily cos of all the politics and bad quality lines the operators are ripping off from here?
#37
I've found the letter but I noticed that I must have marked the date on it in ink instead of printed because I noticed that the last saved copy I made of it doesn't have the date on it.

No doubt I just added the date at the post office.

I've also got the recorded delivery slip! hahaha
#38
i've found my original letter dated 29/11/2007 along with the recorded delivery stub. sent off the details to cisas and also sent in past bills as attachments using the online complaint.

lets see what happens.
#39
I didn't use the numbers much but I stated on the letter that I'd bought the contract with the intention of using them during the duration of the agreed term.

I also said I have relatives living abroad which I do, and I ring these people using 18185 on my home phone all the time.
