They are overpriced normally. This brings 'em to acceptable if it wasn't for the **** sweets that seem to have been in the shop for donkeys.

Might just be my local store. I have given them more than a few chances as I love my candies. They fall short in that your money is best spent elsewhere if you want a sweet fix.

stale sweets, bought them for my son and would never ever buy them again even at this price. poor lad nearly lost his teeth due to them being rock hard.

The cola bottles I got were rock hard. A good one is soft and chewy.

Thanks for an honest sweet review, I'm not sure where the other posters buy theirs from, I also never ever have a problem.

I hardly comment on deals but as a sweet connoisseur I feel the need. These are the best trust me and my 3 children...we usually spend £5 on a big bag and leave them in the cupboard for a few week taking a couple at a time as a treat. Over the years these are the closest I've come to the taste I remember as a child.

went to get pick n mix before, in a bag, weighted it, it came to some silly price for a few sweets, some man came along, filled his bag, paid, and here was me decanting all my sweets back into the correct holes!, so i had to pay only a small amount :( i gave up on the end, i think they have pick n mix in poundland?

I buy these occasionally from the shop down the road. Some of the types do seem 'stale' or just a bit harder than normal, but they still taste great. We've had competitions on who can fit the most into a medium sized cup, I think our record so far is 420g. At £2, for a pick and mix, that's fairly reasonable, but at half price that's a bargain. :)

The Wilkinsons in Coventry has about 60 different tubs as well, a very good variety.

Stating the obvious, buying the cups is significantly cheaper than paying per 100g if you're good at packing them in. :p

heat added. i love candyking. admitedly wilko's always seem to be rock hard so i do avoid from there. plus they remove the large cups whenever theres an offer on at my local 1. blockbuster do the best candyking, always really soft. mmmmm. but im sure not all wilko's are the same, really good price! x
#17
perfectly fine candy, and I think the reason some are stale is because they don't contain gelatine which is better for some
#18
Love this thank you!! XD

The question is, is a large cup more cost effective than filling a bag up to same value?

I sell pick and mix. All the sweets are soft and chewy and i can post :-). deliver every night. delivery is straight to your door if your close enough. I am in Huddersfield.

Borrow a Large cup from a different store that does the CandyKing, like WHSmith. Fill it up at Wilkinsons and take it through the tills? :)

#23
I went today and there was only medium sized cups. I managed to fill it up to £2 worth according to the scales.

Good thinking. Not sure of the use of the word 'borrow', mind.

Got a small 99p cup today and squished it down and filled it as much as the top allowed, just out of interest I weighed the cup and if I had put the sweets in a bag they would have cost me £1.69 (based on the cost of half price 'loose' cost) so I would say it is cheaper to do the cups, especially if you are buying lots of small heavy sweets! hehe
