Canon 5D Mark II body only Refurbished £1,252.94 (Canon UK eBay outlet) £1,252.94

alexstewy44alexstewy44

Refurbished 5D Mark II from the official canon eBay store, amazing deal considering its £500 more expensive new! From experince I've bought a canon refurbished camera and it was basicly new, they get tested more than new cameras coming off the production line! That's just my experience though, so still buy with caution. Amazing price, I've already got mine ordered!

Huh? They're £1539.99 new from Amazon. Modest discount, really.

£290 saving a modest discount? I duno, I could buy a 50mm 1.4 to go with it given the savings I'd make :)

Good price if you're after this specific full frame model. Note that there is no pop up flash, burst rate is lower than the new siblings. Well can't expect more from a four year old model. Adding my 5+ heat anyway.

Great camera... I bought a 7D last week from Canon refurb store and it looks brand new with everything sealed. Tempted to sell and go for this but i need an extra £500 and i have yet to buy a lens for it lol

Awesome camera (and that's coming from a long time Nikon user).

Personally, I'd keep it. Apart from the attraction of full frame sensor, I don't think 5D gets any more points over the 7D in terms of features. 7D has faster AF, burst mode, AF points. I am in fact looking for a 7D body, will keep an eye on the outlet.
Did you get yours with the kit lens btw?

5D MKII out performs a 7D by a long shot in low light, at least 1-2 stops.
7D autofocus is quicker and more accurate in better light.
Depends what you want, but everything gets expensive when you want low light performance, camera and glass.

Just a suggestion as you're looking for a lens, you really can't to far wrong with the 24-105. Fantastic 'walk about' lens which will suit most situtations you'll find yourself in. (This ebay outlet is always worth checking as the stock changes all the time)

I have a 5D Mark II and i purchased the 7D for its improved af system which was far better than the 5D Mark II BUT i found the 7D images wasn't as good especially when raising the iso so i sold my 7D within 2 week of owning it.

I bought the body only as i wanted a different lens for use with music video work. I am looking for a deal on a Tamron 17-50mm VC. I know the non VC is supposed to be sharper, but i will be using it handheld sometimes so the VC would help and i will not be using it for photography.

Pretty much agreed with me then ;o)

The reason I found this deal in the first place is because I was debating which one to get, the 7D or the 5D. I wanted the 7d because of its autofocus and drive speed but I just can't live with a 1.6 crop, it has to be full frame (I'm coming from a canon eos-1 series camera), especially given that I own full frame glass, so yeah in the end the 5D was the obvious choice, even if I do have to folk out a bit more

Most people buying this would be earning money from video or photography.

Its a pro camera, or serious hobbiest at least. Save your cash if you not and buy a 60d

If you have the money to spare, go for a 5D Mk3, 6fps and 61point AF (41 cross types). The only disadvantage with full frame is it shows any weakness with your lens. Lenses are generally sharper in the middle, and less so near the corners.

Ah I'd love a 5D mark iii, it's a great camera! But I'm afraid its out of my budget range at the moment. Maybe one day though...
The focus system on it is brilliant, I had a play with one (and a prototype 1DX which was also impressive) and it just worked so flawlessly.

BEWARE....I purchased a 60D from these last month, when it arrived it was really poor condition with the black rubber coating peeling off. It was really rubbish service for arranging return. They received it back on the 8th of June and two weeks later I am still waiting for refund. I would not deal with these again.

Cold. There are far cheaper cameras around.
