This was hot as £66 so even better now. I have one of these and I'm very happy with it generally.

Bit confused - spec here says metal body but the Argos reviews say it's plastic.

Canon A3000 IS 10MP Compact Digital Camera - Silver.

The Canon A3000IS digital camera is slim and lightweight and the 10 megapixel sensor captures crisp, vivid details.

I think you will find it is actually a plastic body, with a thin metal 'veneer', as opposed to a full 'metal body', but that's not to say it isn't well made and quite robust (as these things go).

Typical, bought it Tuesday for £66, and not covered in 30 day money back guarantee - drat !

But I did get a £5 voucher - hurray

Still a pound down though - boo

Anyone looking to get one in Edinburgh? New look store launched. Launch offer? DOUBLE vouchers. Spend over £50 get 2x£5 vouchers. Spend over £100 get 2x£10 vouchers!

Only one voucher can be used per transaction but still free money if you are buying something already - like this camera...

Asda are doing the C143 Kodak 12 megapixel camera (3 x optical zoom, 5 x digital) for £49

The rechargeable battery is certainly a deal breaker. Hot.

Kodak cameras are really not good these days (they were in the past, but not any more). Although the spec. of the Kodak superficially looks a bit better than the Canon, if you put pictures from the two side by side, I have absolutely no doubt that the Canon would wipe the floor with the Kodak.

If you absolutely can't spend more than £49 for a camera, this would be a better bet:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003KTN60Y/ref=pe_79601_22611691_pe_epc_d1

But if you can stretch the extra for the Canon, you won't be sorry, there is simply nothing else at the price that is anywhere near as good. If you need more convincing, just read this:

Chips as Cheap .............

Resserved one.... Thanks

Hot for price but reviews are a bit mixed.

Being a canon, I'd have no problem buying it tho'.

does anyone know for sure if this camera takes a 8 gig card or bigger, the reason i ask is in one review the video element states (Up to 4GB or 1 hour [L or M]), i dont see why it wouldn't take a bigger card.
or would it be more advisable to just buy 2 x 4 gig cards.
ragjoy...........
