Seems like a great deal, anyone have any input on the camera and/or the retailer?
#3
Amazon has it for £146.82 but AJ Electronics look trustworthy and offer 2.5% quidco. I think I'll go for it!

Already read a few, enough for me to realise that assuming the cash back goes OK, this is a bargain compared to anything in this price range. Bought it already.

I have a powershot A620, and it is excellent. I paid £240 for it some time ago now and i have not regretted it (well apart from the fact that you get beginners SLR cameras for that price now)

Great price, i have told some people in my office about it

there is no mention of the cashback on the website is there?
#7
There's also another review on DC Resource http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_a570-review/

I didn't make it clear, but the link to the PDF form is the claim form itself. It's says that you have to print it out and send it to them by september the 25th and include with a printout of your email confirmation of the order.

Don't forget quidco.
HOWEVER, on their 'about us' page they state they often source from abroad. Another source may be a beter bet

I think you might be misreading it. They say they have overseas customers and can supply auto-voltage products to these overseas customers.

At the end of they day, they say they currently have them in stock and if you're really worried they have a telephone number that you can ring. It Even states they will be delivered by City Link. Play want £169.99 So I thought it was a good price.

From their About Us page:

"Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Since the start of business in 1983 we have worked to build an excellent reputation for reliability and after sales service with customers visiting both our website and our showroom, as well as with our varied corporate and overseas customers. "

"As well as specialising within the UK electronics market we can source to specification multi-system and auto-voltage consumer electronics for overseas markets. Our logistics are second to none, enabling us to deliver products from a single item to full container quantities via road, sea or air to any part of the world."

My bad, I misread, but still doesn't confirm UK sourced

This place is confirmed as sourced UK stock direct from Canon

Same price..I know where I'd rather purchase

I really don't see what the big deal is. I assume you're refering to the page Here Even jessops isn't listed on that page, yet according to Canon The A720IS is exclusive to Jessops. Neither is Comet, Dixons etc listed. So I you're suggesting all those get their stock fromoutside the UK too are you?

For a retailer to appear on that list they have to have their 'own little Canon shop' promoting Canon in a big way.

AJ has a shop/ showroom that you can visit and have been around since 1983, which is why I would buy from them instead of Digital Camera Company

If actually bothered to check the company you refered to, you will see that they don't actually have any in stock.

What I am refrring to is previous Canon cashback deals including the Eos deal currently running. Cashback is sometimes subject to it being strictly UK sourced stock. You may well be fine, but all I'm saying is people may want to double check. I don't see why you are so against people being made aware of possible exclusions regarding the Canon cashback deals, of which I have read, and partaken in before, many posted on this site.

I believe delivery is actually next day if ordered before 1pm.

The digital camera company don't actually have the A570IS in stock you realise?

When you say "I don't see why you are so against people being made aware of possible exclusions regarding the Canon cashback deals" I'm not, why would I be? If you read your own post, you state that:

"Don't forget quidco.
HOWEVER, on their 'about us' page they state they often source from abroad. Another source may be a beter bet"

and then:

"My bad, I misread, but still doesn't confirm UK sourced

This place is confirmed as sourced UK stock direct from Canon

http://www.digital-cameras.com/xpp-c...t_a570_is.html

Same price..I know where I'd rather purchase"

You don't actually make any reference to the Canon cashback at all, nor make people aware of any possible exclusions, so how exactly can I be against it?

AJ have this on the price comparison sites:
"Price Runner Retailer of the Year 2005.Unsurpassed service since 1983latest products,LOWEST PRICES. Genuine UK. 0% Finance available* stock."

I took that to assume that it's UK stock.

Well I ordered the A570 IS from AJ Electronics and can confirm it's a UK model. It even came with the form to claim the £50 back from Canon.

Aside from the camera being just a little bit on the bulky side to fit in my pocket I'm very impressed, especially for £90! Feels quick and responsive and although I've yet to put it through it's paces the photo quality does seem much better than the Casio EX-Z57. Less noise, better colour balance and the image stabilisation is fantastic. So as long as you're not looking for a really slim pocket camera, this is a fantastic buy though of course the £50 cash back offer is gone now.

I ordered mine at 10pm tuesday night (which was the 28th) from digital camera company, but they dont have any in stock at the moment, does this mean I wont be able to claim my cashback? :-(

If anyone who brought one from AJ's is worried after c00lios comments, I've now received my cashback from Canon. Everything's fine.
