i have canon but i dont use these ink, i need cl-38 and cl-41, looks expensive to me. just had a quick look on picstop they have jettec multipack cartridges,
PGI-5 Black, CLI-8 Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow 20% extra life delivered £17.99 https://www.picstop.co.uk/Canon-Ink-Cartridges/Canon-C27-C28-BCMY-PGI-5-CLI-8-MULTIPACK-Compatible-Ink-Cartridge-by-JetTec---C27C28BCMY
if you look on google products it retails for £19-£20 http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=Canon+CLI-521&cid=7709722472525331098&sa=title&os=sellers#start=0 so you only save 1/3 is you buy them separately, this does appear to be the cheapest delivered.

If I was you I'd do what my friend does, ie
do NOT buy genuine Canon like this with 3 carts CYM for £19.69/£18.99

but instead STILL shop at 7DayShop but buy the InkRite compatibles.
eg Search for the word ZEBRA on the site
and you'll find the latest 'chipped' editions
ie InkRite's CLI-521BK and C and M and Y and the bigger 520 BK
(you often need all 5 carts eg in the Pixma MX860 )
all at £3.49/£3.29/£2.99 each
ie around HALF or less the Canon price.

cheers for that...i understand what your saying however isnt it worth while getting orginal stuff? does the compatable stuff last as long and produce the same quality?

My own exp of 7dayshop pertains to Epsom picturemate. Cartridge is about £3.50 and on first use seemed OK. After that things went down hill with blotchy prints. Cleaned heads etc but blotchyness remains. I know v little about inkjet printers tho.

PS this was also on the same paper stock

I would suggest to you that you try them yourself - ie don't rely on rumour or the manufacturers claiming the world ends if you don't pay them a fortune for their own ink - even if you felt they lasted 40-50% you'd still be where you already are VFM wise.

Personally I've used InkRite for years and years and saved a fortune with my Epson C46 (as well as plenty of other 'compatibles'). The friend who has the Canon is a SoHo and hence uses a LOT of cartridges and has been very happy with the Canon InkRites (he's out in Italy and I sent him a batch from 7DayShop every once in a while). They were (are?) the first to add the chip to their 'compatible' 520/521 carts.

BTW don't forget eg 1% Quidco - owt's better than nowt.

I've got myself a cheapo Epson All-In-One ready to replace my C46 which is physically on its last legs and I've already stocked up with InkRite spare carts from 7DayShop for that.
