The Argos promotion terms & conditions say that buying gift vouchers is excluded from the free voucher promotion. The £150 vouchers would cost £150 & no freebies!

Am I wrong?

Reading the T&C's it says: Excludes the purchase of gift vouchers using gift vouchers as a method of payment.

So I believe you can't buy vouchers with vouchers. Buying them with cash/card should get you the extra vouchers.

That said, I'm surprissed they let you do this. I'm going to try this tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll get a few questions when I buy two lots of vouchers and then immediately use them....

No worries on this.. the T&C's are very clear. You wont get free vouchers for buying vouchers using voucher as a method of payment. This means, if you've £100 Argos vouchers, you cant go to shop and buy £100 vouchers using the £100 vouchers you have and get £10 free voucher :prop:

Above all, I have done this twice in the last week without any problems whatsoever (as are almost everyone who bought the Beko 32" TV).

Any digital camcorder with DV out will allow you to edit on a PC..DV in required if you want to feed back to camera.
What you will require is a firewire card...cheap and easy to fit....and software of course to render to your format of choice.

I could be wrong but doesnt this take very expensive special sized dvd disks that last a fraction of some tapes and HDD models?

All DVD camcorders will take only 8cm DVD disks, which can be bought as cheap as 3 for £1 @ Poundland :)
#16
Just ordered 10 x 8cm DVD-RW's for less than £5. So, the media is cheap.

Bought this today. Looks good, now I've got to work out how to use it.

My only concern is that the cashback from Canon states 'participating retailers', so I'm not sure this will work with Argos?

Still a good price, even if the cashback doesn't work.

Thanks for the feedback SteveA :)

Cant find a list of participating retailers @ Canon site and the fact that even rather unknown sites are promoting cashback, buying from Argos is pretty safe for claiming cashback. Buying from places like ebay are obviously excluded.

I bought one on Saturday, hung around for ages at Argos while they tried to find the cashback claim forms. In the end they couldn't find the form so I downloaded the form from the John Lewis website. I contacted the Canon cashback helpline this morning, explained the situation at Argos and they said it would'nt be a problem.

I didn't go for the extra money off by buying the gift vouchers first, I paid with my Nationwide credit card and received the free extra years warranty.

"What is the difference between DV and DVD?

DV records data on a cassette tape whereas DVD records them on a disk. A disk cannot hold as much information as a cassette tape, which is why DVD uses a much heavier compression scheme than DVC, drastically affecting the quality of still image. On top of that, tape is more superior for time-shifting than a disk which is very limited in what can be recorded on it."

above is from canon website, makes you wonder where canon's marketing strategy is,they seem to be recommending the old format/technology!
