good price but for dvd camcorder i rather get Canon HR10 High Definition DVD Camcorder posted on here more money but recordes in 1080i worth the extra imo as its big jump in quality if you have hd tv even using longer recording modes still this is good deal for this camcorder

I'm not voting either way, but I wouldn't buy a camcorder that takes DVDs. The motor takes too much battery power, the risk of a knock interrupting a recording or damaging a disc is too high, and you only get 4GB on a standard disc or 8GB on a dual layer disc. By comparison, a camera that takes SD can give you 16GB recording capacity, better battery life, and can probably sustain a hefty drop without interrupting the recording. It'll be smaller, too. I'm not knocking the camera - Canon make some really good stuff, and this looks like it'll shoot some rather excellent video. It's not the one I'll buy, though.

Plus, there is the matter of HD.

I hear you - I just thought this seemed very good for those not looking to shell out too much (better than the non branded equivalents if you will!). For HD, I was recommended the JVC JVC GZ-MG330A from a friend and it was on Amazon for £240 before Christmas (hiked to £330 now). I'm in n rush to replace our 5 year old Sony
