Great camera, just bought one recently.
Nice price...

Does the optical zoom work in video mode? I have the ixus 70 and it only allows digital zoom.

Go here.

Click "Special Offers'.

Tick the box next to the 2GB memory card.

Scroll back up the page.

Click the Buy or Reserve button, and they should both be added to your cart, with the memory card at £0.00. :)

Is it me....or no one bothered to check for this camera on ebay..

My search shows there are loads of buy it now options with 4Gb SD Card, Tripod, cleaning cloth and camera case all in for £127 buyit now price plus £10 postage.. lets say £140 all in..

That too from a reputable seller. Doesnt make this a very good deal in my opinion.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks

Are these seconds or refurbished?

Only when i have purchased in the past from Argos the items come in plain unmarked boxes and generally i end up with faulty items.

Personally I would say the Canon, unless you need the camera to be as small as possible. (That's not to say the Canon isn't small, it is, just not quite as small as the Sony)

I have gone for this Kodak Easyshare Z1275 12mp 5x Optical Zoom Digital Camera (Refurbished but got a new one today).
It can record in HD as well and picture quality is excellent (compared to my previous fujifilm 2800?)

For
£69.99 delivered (cheapest on untrustworthy Ebay is £78)

It fits into my pocket (not big - but not very slim either).

I've got this camera. Its my first ever digital camera. Its a good camera but IMO nothing amazing. One really annoying thing about this camera is that it doesn't have a battery indicator! So basically you don't know how much battery you have in your battery at any time!

Iv'e got one as well and never noticed that ..you are right there is no battery indicator ...dozens of functions you will never use in the menu and no idication of how much charge left ! though I think it gives a low batt warning just before it dies.

The thing is though, you should always take a spare battery with you anyway. And as they are pretty small, that's easy enough to do. :)

like comparing a trabant (kodak) to a porsche (canon).......ferrari would be canon or nikon dslr's

Cruel, but true.:)

But , What the heck . It's half the price.

I bought this camera back in December for a tenner more from Amazon.
It took only an hour to charge the battery from cold. After medium usage, the battery needed to be re-charged again at the beginning of May. So although there is no battery indicator, it's a minor quibble compared with what you're getting. Although, I do recommend getting a spare battery, just in case. :)

Hot deal, by the way.

Thanks Rockyfella.

I guess, I felt this deal wasnt really a deal hence it prompted to register. I have been looking for a good camera for a while now. as my Sony cybershot brokedown.

Canon IXUS are good. but this can be found everywhere else. its just one of those tactics to show a really old price (i.e. first week camera was launched) and then make it in line with market price. Thus playing up the joe public's mind in thinking it to be a great deal as its half price. :whistling:

Nothing but a marketing ploy. Not a hot deal but a cold turkey, IMHO

why aren't you buying the panasonic lumix dmc tz3 with 10x optical zoom about the £140 mark
