The lowest price listed at http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod1649.html for this is £450, so £300 is a good price.
#3
cold voters = plonkers, despite this being a somewhat limited deal.

have a bit of heat

Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

If I didn't already have 2 Sony DSLRs I would possibly grab this. With 2 lenses it's a pretty sweet deal.
#5
I don't have a Macro card...Can I just go as a normal customer and Buy one....?
#6
The price is £300. Only for business customers, so not really relvant for most on HotUK.

But surely for those that this is relevant to it is a hot deal..
So why cold??
Anyone care to link to a cheaper deal?

Well basically it is only available to trade & pseudo trade customers who could presumably buy at trade prices anyway

Plus has possibly the two worst lenses that Canon make.............

Is it the non IS 18-55? If that's the case, then yes it's a pretty bad lens. But then I don't know what on earth you'd get for similar money anywhere else. Maybe an older Nikon or Sony set.

No, the IS 18-55 (which is much newer) gets much better optical results despite similar build quality.

Looks like a bargin to me...

Thats blinding considering i paid £349 for just the 18-55mm lens kit in november.

I'm not a business customer and I have a card. Pretty easy to get hold of if you work for a large(ish) company. As long as they have a VAT number you are ok.

It's pretty much an entry level dSLR in the Canon range so why would you expect them to put better lenses in the package? It would be better said that these lenses are at the bottom end of the range and NOT as you stated "the worst" They will give someone starting out everything they need for a damn good price (provided they are Makro members)

Heat from me.

If this is the 18-55 non-IS then it is not worth it. If it is the 18-55 IS then it is well worth it. The 75-300 is a terrible lens no matter how you spin it. I suspect it is the 18-55 IS given how common that package is.

Also, the people claiming the 18-55 IS isn't a good lens clearly don't know what a good lens is. Given the optical characteristics of the lens (i.e. 18-55 f/3.5-5.6) it is about as good as you can get. It is sharp as a tack, and I have personally compared it to the 15-85, 17-55, and some L class and it still looks sharp next to them.

I've given this heat but only assuming it is the 18-55 IS. If I am mistaken about that then I'd just skip it.

I totally agree..... Markro is only for trade members... at least with Costco many members of the public can join as non-trade members.

Makro deals where not allowed on HDUK, has something changed or is it just sloppy modding?

I'm a member, have a card for Makro, I'm not in the trade..
Deals don't have to be relevant to the majority of HUKD members to be a good deal..
Would you vote a deal for cheap heating oil cold, just because you have gas central heating?

Yeah, but the Canon kit lenses are worse than pretty much everyone else's kit lenses, especially Olympus and Nikon ones.

Still a fantastic deal though.

errr I have my own business yet I am on HUKD just because this does not fit into YOUR demographic kindly don't attempt to put the OP off from posting deals like this!

I don't live near a Home Bargains like a huge majority of the UK yet I don't say hey don't post those on here.

Don't like a deal or it doesn't suit then stroll on please

you disgareed with something im not referring to

it is better than the non-is one....so i agree with you....its newer i think

but thats not what i was referring to - no you dont need IS, if you rely on it then you should take the camera back to the shop

Doubt it has the IS Lens, they stopped bundling that with the 1000D over a year ago (they did a 'premium' package with it, but standard was none IS).

I got mine from Jessops six months ago and it came with IS lens.. dont think they package it with a NON IS lense.
#37
Both Lenses are Non-IS lenses...But £300 mark with two lens is a good price...If you want to buy the camera from a retail shop cheapest is £340 from dixons without the lens and you can buy the other lens separately for about £100 so total is £440...you are getting everything for £300 which is a saving of £140 certainly a hot deal....!!!!
