very cheap....near double most places and rrp near £300

is a seller......could be an import which is fine except warranty i guess

VERY good price. This is like £200 plus elsewhere. Would the lack of IS cause a problem though? How does this compare with the 55-250mm IS lens?

Just because there's a Canon name on it doesn't guarantee greatness. They make both superb and duff lenses. This one unfortunately is a duffer...

I think for the price it was pretty obvious this was going to be a budget lens for amatuers like myself who can't afford £500 plus zoom lenses.
