A great price from a reliable source. The Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens is a small, light and economical telephoto zoom with a long focal length range - one that matches up very well to many general purpose zoom lenses. Great reviews.

its £123.99 + £9.99 P&P at Digigood

I read some worrying things about Digigood in realtin to grey imports, warrantys and being caught out by Customs and Excise and having to pay 25% of the cost. You can take the risk but for me Amazon is a far safer bet.

Can i use this with my NEX 5?

Sorry a load of rubbish ( I mean what you heard) I have bought several items from them ( incl this lens) and looking at their items sold on this lens is 285 since mid Jan and have a impressive sales record with over 147,940. . but best of all they take PayPal

nah it is possible, just depends really on the lens mount. Curious about this lens, i think there is an adapter for it, but theres no aperture control...

Would have thought you would lose AF as well. Even the adaptor to make the alpha lenses fit the nex 5 lose AF capability

Got this lens myself, use it on a EOS 50D, bought it as a cheap and cheerful telephoto lens for my kids sports day and it didnt disapoint, since then ive used it at Chester Zoo and a few other events were the extreme zoom was useful. In nice daylight i cant fault the images you can produce with this lens, excellent value for money.

Mine arrived next day and the lens is a gem at that price.

You need both in your hands. the 55-250 rotates at the end so is no good for polarising filters but the image stabilisation is superb. It is light and very sharp. However the 300mm is more telephoto and I would imagine very fast to focus and silent plus the manual focus will be easier to use.
Depends on what you want it for

Seems like Simply electronics is not a UK/ Jersey online retailer...So you get some cheap Chinese imports....you can get them in ebay for cheaper price anyway...But if you want a proper branded one it's always better to go with amazon
