why cold? looking for a first DSLR so would be nice to know!
#2
Price is not bad
#3
450D with the IS version of this lens has been about the same price from Argos on ebay, so this isn't a hot deal IMO (_;)
#4
Can't see anything cheaper (apart from refurbs on eBay)

But this is not a huge amount cheaper than else so maybe why it's not getting any hot votes. (eg £341.99 at Amazon)

£8 is £8... If that's the next best then a cold vote is a pile of scallops!

Just hearing on the news that consumer goods from Japan are likely to go up in price due to the impact of the earthquake/tsunamai.

I wouldn't say something's a hot deal just because it's the cheapest price you can find for that particular item on a given day. Looking at value rather than the specific price, this is a basic 2 year old camera with an even older lens, so anything >£300 isn't great!

The point is a far superior product has been, and will inevitably be again, just as cheap; this isn't a good price unless you desperately need to buy a camera today (in which case you'd be well advised to go for the Nikon equivalent at this level). Hot deals come to the patient 8)
