unbelievably cheap....considering its replacement is double that...ill stick with my 400d for now though
#2
Good price but i can see it getting cold votes based on its only 10mp and £1999 for a camera ! :whistling:
Think i'll just stick with my own camera for time being :)
#3
Wow that's cheap!

Heat added.

"Only" 10mp means nothing on a camera like this, it would still eclipse ANY compact/ bridge even if it were 10,000mp due to the size of the sensor (which Im taking you know given your "whistle" but someone WILL post a Fuji 15mp as a better/ cheaper alternative )

I'd love this, I have the 400d and its amazing, I dont think the OH would agree to a trade in (and I dont mean her...... well not untill these things can do cleaning and dishwashing anyway :p)

That's a lot of quidco.
#11
WOW, bargain.

I'd LOVE one of these, don't have the cash though - but agree this is a great deal.

I think the 7D is £1800, so this is very good.

Let's start a revolution here folks!

Anyone that posts trolling comments (whether they sound genuine or not) everyone else just ignores them and continues on with the proper discussion?

It'll never catch on but it'd be nice to see :-D

not in stock anywhere near me and says for home delivery only. however its not available as home delivery anymore LOL. hot for the price but a poo deal. sorry.
#19
I just bought a 7D from onestop-digital for £1125. I think your £1800 price is a bit off the mark Shabba.

only faster picture taking and autofocus. the 1D family (not the 1Ds family) are journalist cameras. they put faster picture taking (by that i dont mean 'shutter speed' but the speed the shutter can reset itself for the next shot and the sensor is read out), faster AF and better subject tracking.

1dm3 does not have video modes, highlight compensation, all the nifty stuff.

however the 1dm4 *does* have those, an insane ISO range (102,000 stills IIRC and usable video at ISO 6400). still its a lot more expensive.

beware with 5d at the moment it only records video @ 30fps. getting decent 25fps out of that for panning/moving images is a bit hit n miss.
#21
The 102,000 ISO shots that came out today look 'a bit grainy' although that it exists at all is a miracle.
#22
This is an insanely good deal, and that coming from a Nikon shooter. Hot
#23
Subject to a global recall about a year ago.

Nah, they (Jessops) did a Debt For Equity swap with HSBC to wipe out a whole load of the debt owed - thus highly diluting the share price

Have you checked the store checker? I've just ordered one to pick up from Edinburgh on the 7th. Perth also has them.

Do you prefer your hat flambe or friccasee?
#28
why do people think Megapixels are so important. Just look this camera up on flickr im sure the photo's it can produce will be outstanding
#29
Fantastic camera - heat and rep added.

Guildford has in stock btw (I checked but can't justify spending this on a new camera as I already have the 5D and it does the job just fine)

Already answered...... helps if you read the thread

From GOOGLE (I swear that site must not work on 99.9% of PC's!!!)

The struggling camera retailer has been bailed out by its bank - and shareholders at least get something. Jessops, the UK’s largest camera retailer, has been saved from collapse by its bank HSBC. The teetering company has agreed to a fairly major restructuring that will leave the bank with a 47% stake – in return for which it will write off £34m of the money that Jessops owes it. Whether this will be enough to save Jessops in the long-run remains to be seen, given that supermarkets and internet retailers are still eating its lunch. But HSBC’s decision not to pull the shutters down will at least keep it afloat for the time being.

If you think that matters, you don't need this camera.

If you know what matters, you know this is a fantastic piece of kit.

I shoot cricket matches with a 20D, it's amazing what you miss even with 3 4 or 5 fps, I'd love one of those.

was this the cam that had loads of complaints over focusing issues?

the 5DmkII seems a better bet..(full frame too), if you dont mind 3.9fps

yeh, but imagine what youd miss with a point and shoot which are usually around one shot per 2-3 seconds, not that youd see much anyway..lol

megapixels is the same argument applied to most technology things like tv's, its the quality of components that counts and this for starters has a full frame cmos...so no post processing of the pic required.

I'll get 2 if its only £2000. I didn't even know camera's were this expensive but obviously , must be an amazing camera
