I am looking to buy the camera kit above and saw this deal on Dixons Tax Free at the airports. It is selling for £731.91 before the Canon £140 cashback making it £591.91.

The next cheapest one available is on Dixons online for £839.99 (and also 3% quidco and £140 cashback) making the total £674.79. So you can see the savings is really great! The only disadvantage is that you need to be flying through one of the airports with Dixons Tax Free.

I have called them personally at the Belfast International Airport and they assured me that I would not be taxed upon entering the UK as long as I am flying within EU. They also confirmed that the Canon cashback is still applicable.

My friend is flying to Paris next week so I am asking him to help me to get one!

Has anyone had any experience with shopping with Dixons Tax Free?

Think you should check here first, (I could be wrong ??? it's the 400d not the 40d ???, difference I do not know):

I don't suppose anyone knows if you can buy the 40D body only from DixonsTaxFree, and if so, at what price?

I bought the 17-85 to go with my 400D during the last round of cashback, before the 40D+17-85 kit was announced, so don't need the lens.

If you can't, does anybody think this would be a good idea:

Buy the 40D from DixonsTaxFree for £731.91 - £140 cashback - £325 (Possible sale price for 400D on Ebay) - £225 (Possible sale price for 17-85 on Ebay) = £net total: £41.91

£41.91 for an upgrade from 400D->40D! I think I might just be doing this!

@Redin - the £100 is for the body only. since this comes with the 17-85mm lens, there's an additional £40 cashback, at least it's what written on jessops website. i have asked about it in jessops store and they confirm it is £140. well i just have to wait till I get the camera to know for sure.

@monkey - you can call your local dixons tax free store and ask them about the price for the body only.

Can anyone confirm that it is £140 cashback and not just £100? I have phoned the store at Heathrow and the person was under the impression you can only claim for the body? Anyone claim for both?
