Why the cold votes? care to show me this camera available for less?

Cant see this cheaper, Hot!! but can you claim cashback with it?

I would rather get the 500D which is newer and has Video recording, also it cant be much more expensive than this. even the 550D is starting to comedown in price.

The 450D is a very old model with 12.3MP sensor, the 550D is 18MP and 500D is 15.1MP
both of the later have video, and are newer and better.

If you dont need video, than go for the 50D which is newer and much better than 450D also cost is not much greater.

Having more pixels isn't always a good thing! The sensor can be over crowded and produce noisy images. My Nikon D5000 has 12.3mp and produces VERY crisp images. I could show you images produced by cameras with 8mp that will wipe the floor of some Mega Pixel cameras. It's not all about pixels!

As for the price of the 500D (with lens), the cheapest is CURRYS at £563.99 with discount code 6MAY.

So this deal is HOT.

Maybe this is not the best camera for all, but it may help some, as this is why i went through the effort of posting this deal.

Blasphemous

Ditto I too have the D5000 and I'm extremely pleased with it, quality comes down to the sensor and lens.

I agree. the 450D was a good camera in its day (and is still good) but has now been superseded twice over.

I would expect the price for the last few to continue dropping as stocks run down. Once it drops below £400, this will be hot, not before IMO. Until then, you are better off spending a few pounds more and getting the Nikon d5000, which produces better results and can do video as well for only around £20 more than this.

Wow! This thing really hasn't come down much in price. I bought it in august last year for £450 in jessops.

15MP isn't a huge advantage over 12MP with the lens supplied. But invest in some good glass and the cropability is useful. 500D has iso 12800. That's a huge advantage in real world shooting. But the screen on the 500D is SO much better than the 450D. If you use the 500D then use a 450D, the screen on the 450D will look cheap and blurry. The screen alone is worth the upgrade price IMO. I have a 500D and use it professionally (among other cameras), and had I had a 450D, there would have been many times that I just couldn't have taken pictures. For example, just yesterday, shooting a night time hockey match, I needed iso 3200 to reduce motion blur to an acceptable level with a lens with f2.8. In certain conditions, the 450D rivals the 500D, but in less than perfect conditions, the 450D is much more limiting.
