If you've gotten matches from HotUKDeals, you can probably get it a little cheaper. This price just dropped as well. Was £502.99 this morning. Better than the Argos deal I posted this morning as the Argos deal was for the non-IS lense. It's better than Play.com which is priced at £679.99 contrary to what the other guy posted.

though i would love to get a canon as it has the best features for the price, the next best would be the nikon d60 at dixons they are lower than £409 and you can get £40 cashback from nikon and using the AW10 code you get a good deal with the NIKON £100 saving and you get a VR lens which gives great pics , checked a few reviews shows a difference with the VR set.

Thanks

If you can afford to get lenses then get then Canon else the nikon is great and you get cheap lenses.

i wish people would enter why they vote something cold... if they know a better deal... link it.
#3
I wish posters would put the price in the thread title so folk don't have to click-thru to see it

I think that comes down to how you have your browser configured...

If you have it set to FULL Details. You see the price right there. If you are using the Text Only, if there's demand for it, ask the mods to add a new column to the view to display the price tag. When posting you have to enter the price tag anyway...

It's just being lazy...

Personally I'd want to pay a bit more for the image stabilisation ... actually you don't need to - the IS version is available at Dixons for £499.99 plus delivery

http://www.dixons.co.uk/product.php?sku=305406&source_id=aw&camp_id=DVD+Bargains

use code aw10 to get the delivered price down to £494.90 and buy through quidco to get a few quid more off that

[edit] Sorry - missread the Amazon page - it's also the IS version, so if you don't like Dixons it's a good price.

This is a nice camera, if you're planning upgrading from a compact, owing to it being SD memory. I'm really happy with the 400d i have tho which is very cheap compared wo what i paid 10 months ago. It might be worthwhile waiting a bit longer too?

7dayShop also have the same price - not sure if it's inclusive of postage or not. http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=103551

This is the same camera - it is the Lens that has the image stabilisation not the camera - actually if you are looking for an upgrade lens for your 350D or 400D then this IS Lens is a real bargain, great quality sharp pictures. About £120 and the next best thing to an L lens

Yeah that's right - when I looked originally at the amazon page it looked like they were selling the non IS version of the lens, but looking at it again that's not the case, so it's whether you want to save a few quid buying from Dixons - personally I've not had a problem with their online service but I know some people might prefer Amazon.

It's a valid word. A person like you who has so much rep. should know not to flame without doing a check.

All of which are American English sites, not English English. This is Hot UK Deals.

I don't agree with the voting cold though, it is a good price for an extremely good camera with a very good lens indeed. Is seems people just think the IS lens is "just a lens", whereas it is vastly better than the standard lens shipped in the Eos Kits. I suspect the other cold voting is from the Nikon fanbois.

I have neither make of camera so have no axe to grind.

For what it's worth, as a nikon fanboi, I voted hot and recommended this camera/lens combo to someone after their first dslr. Seen too many cracking low light shots from 350/400Ds to discount Canon.
