I was just about to purchase this from Amazon as the deal posted on here was very good - checked Quidco to see what camera merchants they have, and Jacobs came up - found the same 450D 18-55 non-USM IS lens kit on there for a web price of £443.00 - the Canon cashback is now extended through to January, so -£50 off - making £393 00. Quidco list a free deliver code for orders of £50 or more. PLUS 5% Quidco - I'll post if it tracks - but thats another £22.15 off the price making a total of £370.85.

Quidco had a free delivery code for orders over £50 - the one listed on this site is for orders under £50 I think, I used the quidco one and it worked fine.

the Amazon deal was poseted here:

Jacobs must be crackers - lol

I'm soooo tempted to buy this camera.. let us know when Quidco tracks.. might be the final push I need to go ahead and get me one of these babies - heehee :)
hot mate :)
I have this camera. It is fantastic.

This is super hot!
great price though only recomendation would be to get body only and save a couple quid... pop a nifty 50 on and when you can get a better quality zoom.

otherwise hot!

Fantastic price. Got the 400d last year. Can't warrant the upgrade though.
If my calculations are right - body only saves £36 (canon and quidco and free delivery) - £36 ain't too bad for a canon lens with IS :) but if you already have lenses, then why not...
Just an update.. went for it  - Quidco tracked within 2 hours and is expected to be paid by December
Plan to get the Canon cashback sent off as soon as - incase it goes astray, so there's still chance to chase it up before the closing date
nice one - my quidco tracked all I have to do is explain to the other half how much i spent, er saved :)

lol.. I know, it's certainly more than I'd usually spend, but I'm feeling inspired by some of the stuff I've seen on Flickr.. all I have to do now is save more pennies for additional lenses
Discount code for £15 off is SHOPCODESJD
i have this camera.....with that lens...and the 70-300mm IS USM lens.....starting to wish i'd got the l series....but its still a VERY good camera.
I am SOOOOO tempted by this amazing offer as it comes in at just over £330 for body only with Canon and Quidco cashback. Other half has lenses from film EOS that are compatible.

We are getting married in February next year and have promised ourselves a joint Chistmas/birthday/wedding present. Do you think there will be any price reductions in January sales or is this offer likely to be as good as it gets?

Appreciate any advice on this matter as its a LOT of money for us to spend!
You could, not sure if still available, get this even cheaper from Dixons Tax free stores in airports. It is £408 in-store and then you get the £50 cashback also so you get it for £358!!!
edixon83 you cant buy time dont worry about the price reductions . I bought my first digi camera before the birth of my little girl. Its always out with me for days out and events and all i can say is I am surprised about how much i had forgotten (that the camera can still show me) and how quickly we change and grow up. The camera is an investment for your life and memories. Once bought you may only spend a few quid per year printing your finest out otherwise keep a few thousand on a dvd @ 20p per thousand pictures. putting them on flickr to keep all your family in touch where ever they may be.
sold my eos 400d on ebay for £285, got £22.15 quidco and £50 canon cashback so its only cost me £85 to upgrade

I've also emailed them saying I'd forgot to add the £15 quid off (SHOPCODESJD) after the quidco had tracked so fingers crossed

If anyone is also wondering what a good lens to get is, I'd recommend the Canon 70-200 f4l which is £395 (cheapest I could find) from Wilkinsons you may need to get it from the shop though as there out of stock online.
Quidco for Jacobs is now down to 3.5%.
I think the £50 cashback from Canon is only for the EOS 500D.

I believe the promotion for the 450D is £30 cashback from Canon.

Did you notice that this thread is over a year old?
