First off all let me thank " choc1969 " for getting a hold of the -£17 off voucher - Pixuk09056.

Let me tell you this, I know this isn't exactly cheap and it;s not the regular 20 quid hot uk deal, but this is a fantastic price for an equally fantastic camera,

The camera with lens is £599. £9.40 standard DHL delivery.
Apply the code Pixuk09056 at checkout to bring down to £591.40.
If you track with quidco you get an extra 3% cash back.

Now, I know there are some cheaper in like ebay or some dodgy websites... but this is by far the cheapest on the well known trusted websites.

Again, thanks to choco1969 for the brilliant code.

Any EF mount lens (and all EF-S lenses) should work

what do people get out being ignorant and voting cold anything that isn't related to call of duty being £20....

*sigh..*

Nice camera.

Not voted given the fact is Pixmania and have had problems before.

However still a good price.

Duty free cost last week was £578 odd.

The screen on this is really nice, it's the same one as on the 5d MkII which is a £2k+ camera.

Wouldn't buy from Pixmania - too many horror stories

I think they do "enough" each upgrade to warrant the extra cost but its a personal choice to whether you appreciate the changes. For instance, when I bought my 400d the 350 was still around and the 450d was just around the corner. However, the 400d seemed the best choice for me, no second info screen like the 350d BUT higher resolution and a better sensor, the 450 was just too expensive for me at the time but had I known what I have learnt since having the 400 I would probably have gone for it just for the better kit lens if nothing else (now replaced my kit lens so not a problem).

If you want HDvideo (and Im not sure just how good the quality is anyway with sound/ picture and ease of use etc) and live view (which I think is a bit chavvy and aimed at compact users as SLR's have always used TTL (through the lens) view finders anyway), then the 500 may be for you, however, I REALLY dont think you will regret the 450, by all accounts its slightly better than the 400d and that is an AMAZING camera!! Good luck, try going to Jessops and have aplay with them both, its the only way to see for yourself

If you read my description post and understood what it says, you would know not to post anything about digitaland here.

this is one of many reasons why

But, if you can honestly say you will give them £600 and be confident you wont get scammed one way or another.... go ahead:thumbsup:

and another one to keep you happy...

I've read a lot of bad things about pixmania, so I started to get worried as I purchased this camera and a Laptop for my mum yesterday.

A nice french lady gave me a call this morning to validate my purchase as it was my first from them. After she checked everything was correct she said they will be dispatched immediately and I will have them within the next couple of days!

Can't waiitttt :)

... and it's the non-IS version of the lens, which costs £££s more on this site!

Doh!

Lol, I don't know why so many people are voting cold... they have no ****** clue what they are looking at.

This is the cheapest deal to get this camera on hot uk deals.

I called up my local airport taxfree dixons to ask how much the 500D kit inc lens costed and was told £579.99 which i think is a bargain! I may have to book a cheapy flight some where to get it!

Just posting this for people who are interested or have a flight booked somewhere!
