True. But what about warranty? buying from those ppl means you'd have to send it all the way back, if something goes wrong. not sure but this would been hot two or three month ago...

Not to mention you're pretty lucky not to pay about £100 vat duty. When you take those into account, its not necessarily cheaper.
yes it's a chance you take i guess.. i was fully aware of the warranty issue.. hopefully i wont have to use it..
Message for RTi - what is the auction site you mentioned - do you mean ebay?
Yeah, which auction site? eBay prices are about £600 - £700
mine was £553 delivered inc 18-55mm IS kit lens.. ordered sunday arrived friday using fed ex from hong kong.. it is sold as the Kiss X4 in Japan.. T2i USA and 550d in Europe.

can post link if required..
Yeah, a link would be great thanks :)
i was a bit wary.. so contacted a number of buyers who bought the same cam... only a couple replied.. but said all was fine..
So I guess it's not covered by manufacturers warranty in this country? And did you get stung at customs?
Yeah it's not covered in the UK...I would ask Canon to see how much it would cost to get it repaired..prolly wouldn't send it back to seller though.

no issues with customs for me..
