Not a bad deal, but if you can get a Canon 40D for the same price or cheaper (I paid £599 from dixons with a 17-85 IS lens back in October) I'd go for that instead.

BUT....you wont get to be able to shoot STUNNING full HD video. The 550d is a corking camera for doing stills and video.

Check this out. http://www.vimeo.com/9735341

The kit is just £1 more expensive than the body!

This is a very good price unfortunately still too much for me at the moment, but I've done my research for the last few weeks and this is a very good camera and this is a very good price, good spot, heat

Brilliant camera, considering getting one in few months just for the video. The awesome pictures it can take will be a bonus =p

In case anyone would rather get this camera from Jessops they are currently selling it for £749, but there's a £50 off voucher specifically for this camera, so the price is reduced to the same ie. £699. This price includes free next day delivery or you can reserve and collect instore.

The code is CAN550D (enter it at the checkout and the £50 will be deducted) and the link to the camera is:

Wish I could afford it!

Unfortunately Canon EOS 40D seems to be no longer available. I've searched around and failed to find one. Seems to be only SH available and I dont want 50D either.

I've used a 40D in the past and loved it. Anybody know where I might still get a new one?

Tried out one last week, solid but slightly cheap body though brilliant camera in spec - with price to back it up too! it's not something that would be outdated any time soon...

Nearly got one, then realised the grip is tiny, and rather uncomfortable to hold - for anyone with larger hands.

It's £650 at Laskys.com and you get £50 cashback from Canon on top.
