Apparently you can claim vat refund from this company if you get nobbled at customs too.

Funnily enough, I've been agonising over whether to get one of these very cameras over the last few days (I've got a 400D with loads of L glass that I managed to get on the cheap), and the onestop price is the lowest I've found. Over on the talkphotography forums they said that stuff sent by them generally turns up within two days as well, so make your choice.

I'll still give this a hot though, as it's less than £2k, and I could go out and pick it up tomorrow. Gawww...... heart says go but the brain says no!

I've had mine since xmas, and it's an awesome machine :) Highly recommended camera body :)

I highly recommend the 35L and 135L lenses with it. A great zoom for it is the 70-200 f4 IS.

Nghhhh stop it! Must resist! I managed to get a 24-70L and 70-200L (f4.0) for less than £600! The quality with my 400D is amazing.. but I'm drooling over the thought of what they're like with FF.

nice camera and not too bad price when you take the recent price hikes on Canon gear in to account, but I got mine from jessops in January for £1850.

Onestop are pretty good. I have had a few lens from them and the one time I got stung for VAT they refuned it pretty quickly. The only problem is you don't get an international warrenty with camera bodies so if anything goes wrong Canon UK won't repair it for free. So if it was me I'd go with the one from the UK just for that extra peice of mind.

How did you manage to get a 24-70L for £600 mate? I've got my heart set on that lens at the moment but cheapest price I've seen is considerably more than that... :( Rumours of a new 24-70L Mk II IS and new coatings at the end of August but if it's even true, who knows what sort of premium Canon would stick on the IS version!

I'm half considering the 17-55mm 2.8 EF-S for my 30D as it's an L in all but casing - the only issue is it won't work on a FF body so if I eventually go for a 5D2, that's another thing I have to sell to fund it (in addition to a kidney!)

Pure luck. I was just taking a quick look at the 'newly listed' on ebay, and there was one there for £500 buy it now! The only reason it was so cheap was because of 'cosmetic damage' according to the seller i.e. a small dent and scratch near the forward facing end. I bought it regardless (seller was a long standing one with plenty of feedback so he was legit) with a paypal claim in mind.

When it arrived, sure enough there was a little dent and a scratch, but the optics were absolutely perfect; I've taken some great publicity shots with it on my 400D - bargain of the century.

My 70-200L 4.0 was from a mate who does auctions. It just turned up on a pallette one day, and so he called me and said, "I've got this posh look white lens, do you want it for £100?". I said yes :whistling: In fairness I think he knew the true value, but apparently they don't do photography equipment at his place, and so he just thought he'd flog it to me cheap.

So £600 spondooligs for two life-long lenses!

I just wish lady luck would smile my way with a 5d Mk II ;-)
