Jump to unread Post a CommentI had a gave the 650D a workout yesterday, having previously owned the 600D (now own Nikon D7000). The touch screen is a nice feature, but not good for taking shots, as the autofocus is a let down if you want to take shots using screen like the Panasonic G series. The continuous autofocus in video mode is a bit disappointing too.
So the 600D at this price is much better value for money as the 650D only came out recently. Cheapest with lens is £730 at the moment. It will come down in price gradually, but not soon.

Yep, they are great when you don't have to contact them.
I bought my 600d from them a few months ago and no problems. Like new but in a plain box. If you want a guaranteed new one, then buy a new one at full price.

i thought the main selling point of the 650 over this is the larger/superior sensor?

Previously I would have ignored comments like yours sircoynie as a one-off bad experience. That was until I ordered from these cowboys with a camera that was a better spec than the one you ordered. I now wish I'd listened to the poor feedback like yours as I consider myself a reasonable individual, but now in the same situation of the comments left by consumers who left totally negative feedback and I'm only at the start of the return/refund process nightmare.
Finally, I'd completely echo your points and to all who read this please AVOID, AVOID, AVOID - it can't said any simpler if you wish for a pleasant purchasing experience.
Appreciate that peoples experiences are going to different, but I can only detail what happened to me. As you highlighted, it is a (massive in my opinion) gamble and if you're satisfied with that then you you get what you pay for - in simple terms it's like paying for a TV from John Lewis knowing that you'll get a 5 year guarantee and their excellent customer service, rather than for example, Currys or Dixons.
I got the lowest end DSLR delivered when I ordered a top end Canon. Hindsight is a fantastic thing, but in my opinion you get what you pay for and, paying lower from canon_uk1 is your own choice and it's a massive chance to the quality or even the correct goods that you will receive.
You pays your money, you take your chance and think of that sentence when you press that 'commit to buy' button.
Sorry to say but I then ordered another lens from these people for my camera and although it was advertised as a Mark II lens the lens they sent wasn't a Mark II. They said it was their mistake and that they don't have a replacement so my guess is that they were all Mark I lens and most people accept them still. So another thing to check if you do buy from them that you get EXACTLY what you bought

Always had quick and helpful replies myself, Presumably you have followed their instructions for requesting a refund as opposed to just messaging them about it?
"How do I request a refund?
Please log into eBay and go to your “purchase history”, there you will see options to contact the seller, where you can request a refund. "

So this isn't a genuine canon refurb or not? Do canon have their own ebay outlet?
650D looks like the sensor will be same image quality as 550D/7D/600D. Coincidence Amazon 550D price increased and ran out of stock? :|
Like the idea of the touchscreen if you can just hit the setting you want straight away rather than dialling through a range eg f2.4 to f22 etc. as I currently do with the 550D.
