Be interested why this gets negative votes - please comment.

And just to say that I don't work for Ask, just get their emails.

Either way, whether this goes hot or not, hope it is of use to someone. I would like this camera, but already have a 600D.

Snapsort gives you an idea. I don't think I could justify buying the 700D over my 600D, but things will have moved on from the 450D, like more MP 17.9 v 12.2, a flip/touch screen, better video, much improved in low light etc.

Heat from me, just looked at the current prices and it seems to have just come down. Ask is still showing £539 on Camera Price Buster
The only thing that would put me off Ask is the mixed feedback, it's not quite Amazon:

I only used them once a couple of years ago, and they were fine then. Can't comment on anything more recent. There is the instore option for anyone local from Boxing Day.

One other thought - as Ask have a shop, John Lewis should match this. You would still get the cashback and Wifi card from Canon, with the bonus of a 2 year John Lewis guarantee. £549 at JL currently.

If I didn't already have a 600D I would be asking at JL.

This or a Nikon d5300? Can't decide!

Or wait for the D5500?

It's your choice, I'm sure either camera will do just fine for you.
When I bought my 600D I was deciding between that or the D5100, the twisty flip lcd won it for me at the time.......each to their own.

Really don't get why this isn't blazing hot.

In the same quandary. Went and had a play with both just before Christmas and the touch screen made me lean towards the Canon. At £399 with the cash back it's well under my buy price.

I wonder if Amazon or JL will price match?

I am happy to be corrected. But I Think ask are Hong Kong importers. So most likely the camera will be am import rather a UK one. Be cautious.
Neither cold nor hot from me.

in the market for a Canon Dslr. previously owned a Linux G2 which was great.

would like to hear thoughts on a 700d deal like this or possibly a 550d second hand saving money for extra lenses?

have seen the 550 in action and quite liked it.

Ive also got a 450d thinking the same thing!!

Anyone know what the 450d worth be worth to sell on?

I went for this deal 2 weeks ago. A lot better deal in my opinion. You get the samedeal + camera bag + memory card + 3 year warranty and its cheaper...

Tempted, this or 100d

The wife is after a SLR. But I'm not going to go muck about getting various lenses etc... For straight good quality photographs, is this by default with the lens it comes free with better than a simple TZ60? thanks

I dont know. I got it after 2 days of ordering and it was sent out from Uk address.

If you do go for this canon, currently Currys are doing a 20 percent discount on Canon lenses + some lenses also get canon cashback, so it might be worth picking a decent lens up at the same time, making this a great deal!

Definitely grey import, that's why you can't get cash back and warranty also invalid with Canon. They import from HK and ship from their warehouse, the fact it was shipped from a UK address has nothing to do with it.

£360+ on ebay not sure about how reliable the seller will be...

JL won't price match as this one doesn't have the flip out screen.

The 700D has a Vari-angle 3.0" Touchscreen LCD
The rear view picture on the Ask site is I think the old 7D

John lewis price match a high-street shop, and is not online only. (we don't match online-only or mail order businesses such as Amazon, ASOS or AO.com)

https://www.johnlewis.com/never-knowingly-undersold

Also, the link enclosed are not UK models.
I have just had a confirmation from John Lewis - who have priced matched! as per NT14 1st original post. Thanks NT14.

Careful with those lenses, some great prices to be had but online only, despite it not being clear on the site (to the extent that 2 different customer service call center departments and 3 staff instore couldn't give me a definite answer), just had a wasted trip on my lunch break, was worth the try though as the lens I was after woild have been cheaper than used prices

My other half just opened this as a birthday present and he loves it. Sadly for me, I bought it a few months ago and paid considerably more than this! Grrrr!!! Still, heat to the OP and congratulations to anyone who gets it at this bargain price!!
