Just been in to Currys for a browse and noticed the Canon Eos M for sale at only £149.99! This beats the Argos deal posted on here at £199

I paid full price for mine (£299) a couple of weeks ago and I'm really impressed with it. At this price it's a steal!

Comes with the 18-55mm IS STM lens which is a peach for a kit lens and the ex90 flash

Only available instore as a clearance stock. Asked whether this was nationwide and the guy showed me stock in other stores at same price.

Sorry if posted in wrong section? (Audio/visual) wouldn't let me change it in drop down menu

you paid 299?
OUCH!!

Yup, it was worth it for what I wanted. I now use is for snaps and video. Saves carrying a camcorder and dslr around
#4
Nice, any good for someone with no DSLR experience?
#5
Looks like the display model for sale.
#6
Yeah it's a good camera for beginners. Easy to take some great shots

Good to know. Last time I saw a yellow clearance sticker like that it Currys it was on a 60D display model.

Just noticed the 99p, that's odd for a clearance item, normally they end in 97.

Found the same thing in Canary Wharf. They also had the two lens kit (18-55mm and 22mm) for 249.99, but looks like you can buy the 22mm lens by itself from ebay for less than 100, so perhaps not worth it.

My fiance was dispatched to John Lewis Bristol to get it from them price matched to Argos. She called me 20 minutes ago to say they were having none of it because black ones weren't in stock at any local Argos stores. I had just clicked on the New tab in HUKD as she called and this was at the top, she went straight round to the Currys/PCWorld at Cribbs Causeway and got the last one.

Thank you very much OP.

Amazing deal. I sold me 500D for this and it suits me fine. Easier to carry around.
#12
Yep, don't forget it has the same sensor and processor as the 70d!

Anyone got a product code / SKu for this package??

Just checked local store and the yellow sticker means its the display model only for sale!
#17
Thanks Op got the last boxed one in Barbican PC World Branch, the display camera was still available @ 2.40pm if anyone is after one, probably will not last very long.
#18
@ stevemack - clearly it's not as others have bought one from stock at this price (see comments)
#19
wooo. hot

I bought one, and it was definitely from stock and not display - they opened the cupboard beneath and had several of each version available.
#21
Sorry my bad, idiot salesman lol!

Got the last boxed one :) thanks op!

Same price instore in PC World for those that don't manage to find one in Currys. PC World display (and receipt) says it comes with a 2 year warranty (maybe normal for Canon, I don't know). There was one boxed one, which I bought, and 1 display unit left in Slough Retail Park. Both black, no other colours. Currys next door didn't have any at all.

FWIW I called the main Currys PC World number to ask them to check stock as direct numbers for the stores didn't seem to be listed. I was told neither shop had any. I was passing later so I went in to check myself. So don't assume a no from the main customer service number means anything.

No, that was the last one... other than the display model, which was also in white but looked a bit battered.

They really are hideous in white with about as much grip as a block of ice, I wouldn't bother.

I paid £50 more for the black from Argos which I'm in two minds about keeping now tbh.

You're right, you can't check for stock unless you work there... They were able to check and reserve stock from in branch.

I bought it online and got it delivered so I can cancel under the distance selling regs.

None of my locals answer their phones...

... All the branches in the Manchester area are out of stock unfortunately, just spoke to someone in the Bury branch who did a search for me.

Total novice. Is this a good camera people would suggest I could use with ease??
