If you want this before xmas you can reserve for instore collection. I got mine in under 30 minutes. Impressive!

It is listed on Jessops at £489.35 but if you use voucher code VCUK you get 10% off (expires Sunday 21st so be quick). This takes the price down to £440.41. You can then get a cashback cheque from Canon for £50 and if you do this all through wepromiseto (a bit like quidco) you get 4% on the non vat price £15.31 cashback, making it £375.10. Even if you don't include wepromiseto - it is £390.41 - a bargain if you ask me.

I recently bought one of these myself. I did an awful lot of research into these and can't recommend it enough. The only downer is that it doesn't do indoor (at dusk without any additional lighting) very well. Otherwise, all pics have been excellent, the microphone has also particularly impressed me under relatively windy conditions (which was something I hadn't expected).
I'd also recommend you get http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-16GB-SDHC-Class-Memory/dp/B0015AOK1O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1229779080&sr=8-1 which will give you a good amount of recording time.

Ohhh - so very very tempting. I have the tape-based HV20 (HDV) which is really rather excellent, but it would be nice to have a solid-state alternative... what to do.... what to do! Looking at the reviews, this image quality of this baby is on a par, if not better than, the HV20/30 - and it does 1080p (whereas the HV20 is 1080i).....

... I really have got to stop visiting HotUKDeals! ;-)

I purchased an HF100 a little over a month ago, and received my £50 Canon cashback yesterday. For the money this camcorder really cannot be beaten. It is very easy to use and gives great results in low light thanks to the 25FPS mode (which Sony's do not have).

Well worth it for under £400.

Bought this when it was £450 at Amazon, bargain at this price. H&R added

i'd be cautious buying it from Jessops, ive heard they are soon going into administration, so if your camera is defective then you wont be able to claim warranty.

Warranty is with the manufacturer:thinking: not Jessops

Another tip. Use a credit card to purchase. If anything goes wrong, you can go to the credit card company to sort out.

Jessops also have the Sony HDR-TG3 which is £336.36 after cashback.
Jessops price is £440.40 and the 10% code brings it down to £396.36 you can then claim £60 cashback from Sony.
You can also get money back from Quidco on top of this.

Shame you can't with the HF100 though - I'm a member of Quidco, but the 3% cashback they offer is only valid for transactions completed wholly online (and not in store pickup) :(

I'm SO tempted by this... I have a DV camera and am so sick to death of the monotonous copying to my PC in real time to edit it!

You may be able to get Quidco back if you collect at store. I bought a Fuji camera in November using quidco and a 10% code. I reserved on line and collected at store. Quidco has validated with a payment date of January 2009. I think Quidco is down to 3% for Jessops.

10% voucher code has now expired, making this more expensive than that detailed above. Gutted I ummmm'd and ahhhhhh'd for so long.

£20 off XMAS20 voucher is valid for this purchase though :-)

I think the code RADIO5 will give you 5% off which will only be a saving of slightly more than £20 (XMAS 20) but I guess it all helps .
