V Nice if you can get one, doesn't the .97p mean its end of line and they are shifting them?

None online, will have to go and have a mooch in my local currys tonight, cheers for that

Tis true. 97p means end of line.

It was on a shelf with yellow labels stating "MASSIVE REDUCTIONS". There were other things too like DSLR's and lenses but I was too focused on the camcorder.

Best bet is to just get down there. If you ring them, they'll most likely keep for themselves.

The Richmond store is a good one to check.

parents are after one, will let them know about this. cheers. heat added

This is a major bargain if you can get one!!

I was looking at HD camcorders last year and ended up with the Sony SR12 at £830 but this was my second choice at around £600

Thank you very much!
I was just looking for a decent HD quality camcorder for my PhD graduation ceremony in this July.

If you beleive that you will beleive anything. They are still making a profit even at the price you have paid.

Which store was this in? My brother is on the look out now so worthwhile knowing where not to try if you're local? What are the other models? Just wondering if there's an alternative he could keep an eye out for?

I am in stoke but unfortunately that there are no such good deals now.

My friend went to local shops this afternoon and found that all discounted items in stock were missing accessories...

I am Liverpool way and have not been able to find a second for my brother, hence I was wondering about alternative models. I know what you mean about missing accessories. One store this way has one but it is missing it's battery and charger. Sales guy said the battery was about £80 and the charger about £70 (so £150 in total), but he couldn't give any discount on the camcorder despite this...

I came across a couple of ex-display camcorders in PC World (I think one was the JVC MG334H), but the way they display them meant it was heavily handled, marked and scratched.

Cheers again to the OP, and cheers matureking for replying.

None in Fife! :-(

Does anyone know if this is records in 1080i or 1080p? Specs on the Canon site are a bit cagey.
#20
If I am not wrong this is not a full HD 1920x1080i but a 1440x1080i. Can someone confirm please.

Old jokes home...

Surely, they'll have 4 ...& the Forfar branch will likely have 5, then you get Fife four ...Forfar five. :-D

I'll get me coat....

popped into my local curry's and no stock at all anywhere..

But the manager told me that the price is now marked down to 150 quids only..

Some Lucky folks are surely going to grab a bargain for sure..

Same here...none in the south....and priced at £149-99 for the no stock..
#24
Forgot to add if anyone has got one for sale..ie a spare I'd pay a good price for it.....£300 plus P+P..?
#25
I got this camera, and I can confirm the output is 1440x1080, but note sure if 1080p, but I doubt it. I can however say the output on my 42" HD is unflippingbelieveable!!! Brilliant piece of kit....
#26
Can anyone confirm whether you can manually adjust the shutter speed, and aperture?

Thanks.
#27
Just called Head Office and they said that all stores have sold out.
#28
Would love a HD Camcorder but perhaps first I should concentrate on a computer that can deal with editing regular video!
#29
My eye lit up seeing this but there is no stock anywhere so thats a sod!
#30
There's no stock at the Halifax store, but they checked locally and said there one at a store in Leeds.
Think it's the one in the centre on the Headrow ?
#31
Just called about it and it's a faulty display model that's been sent back.. :-(

I might just have a brand new unused JVC HD30 you can have for £365 + P+P
#33
Although most stores probably had limited stock (a hundful if that) I'd say that staff would have snapped them up at this price...seems unusual that all stock is gone so quick, even in small stores in towns had some in but have all sold out.

One of the perks of working in retail I guess...hmm.
