Or there's the MP620 at £81 after cashback http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150881

The MP620 has built in Wireless which looks tempting.

Thats all the benefit for paying £23 more.

FYI, same prices as ebuyer at Amazon for IP4600 & MP620...

Nice find...

Keep in mind though that he IP4500 is a better printer than the IP4600, even though its the newer version. The IP4500 is better yeild, quieter, Faster and actually uses less power (for those eco friendly out there ;o) )

And also, the MP620 does NOT print onto CD/DVD's.

Just thought i would comment just in case its of help, i only know all this as i have been on the market for a good cheap to run Inkjet printer that printed onto CD/DVD's as well as good quality photo print quality. And the IP4500 came out the winner, even over IP4600... Hopefully the information is of use to someone.....

Cheers

Wanted the CD/DVD printing so went for the IP4600.

Strange how my posting from the weekend on the MP620 which is far superior and has wireless is cold!

Good luck - I had one of these and the CD/DVD tray was an absolute git - never fed properly first time regardless as to how you aligned it. The printer itslef packed up on me after 5 months so I sold it for spares or repairs and bought an HP D5160 which is fantastic.

Excellent deal, ordered and voted hot.

I've had one of these for 6 months and it has met all of my printing needs including printing on to DVDs and CDs, would thoroughly recommend. Original Canon inks about £10 each for the 14ml and £15 for the 28ml black.:)

Well other than the fact that the MP620 is an all in one (printer/scanner/copier) and the IP4600 is just a printer of course...

God Damn, I was stupid and thought the IP4600 was a scanner as well.

The topic title needs to be changed.

Now I have a printer I can't even bloody use.
#15
MP620 Doesnt print to CD/DVD from what I can see. I spent ages in PC World trying to find a printer that was both wireless and prints to CD/DVD but I just dont think there is one? - unless anyone knows any different?
#16
We have the IP5300, which is a simply excellent colour printer. Recommended.
#17
Quality printers these, bought a IP 4000 over 3 years ago and never had a problem.

The CD/DVD printing is excellent, no issues with the tray.

Also cheap to run, set of compatible inks (5) cost me anywhere between £6 - £10 inc. delivery.

The annoying thing is the MP620 is so close to the MP630 that removing the CD/DVD print ability must have been malicious action on Canon's part. You never know someone might find a hack to make it work, similar to the steps on previous models available at http://damnprinter.com .

Oh, and the iP4600/MP620 has less ink in each cartridge than the iP4500 - pushing up the effective per print cost.

Some in Canon corporate needs a good slap. A fully working MP620 I'd buy, but I'm not going to get taken for a ride.

I would of deff purchased the MP620 if it had CD/DVD printing.

Now I have to go out and buy a scanner that costs £40-50.

Nearly did the same but noticed just in time and ordered the MP620 instead.

The really annoying thing is the MX310, with scanner, printer AND fax can be had for £75, whereas the MP620 is £110 before discount. Now sure the print engine is slightly different and the network connection is missing - but I'd much rather have that one if it did CD/DVD printing. It even has an automatic document feeder.

The first company that stops mucking about and does inkjet printers that make sense gets my order (and no Kodak didn't hold to their promise).

Epson Px 800 & 700 do that

Remember guys the real cost of a printer is in refilling the ink

We've had the Canon Pixma IP5200R for several years now, it is an excellent all-rounder; Wireless printing, DVD printing, Duplex, extremely efficient standby mode, etc all in one package. The only quirk I encountered was when the wireless configuration utility failed to work when a faulty ink cartridge was inserted, once replaced it burst back into life. It's just a shame they don't appear to make an equivalent model any more.

I received the IP4600 yesturday and I am really impressed.

Printing a small 6x4 photo took about 5 seconds...

I tested the CD/DVD Printing and it is really good, tried on 3 different DVDs. The best had to be matte white, due to the matte silver surfice adding a silvery effect to the end picture.

I will still be using my Samsung Mono Laser to print normal documents but this printer is a great photo printer.

Very good looking printer as well.

Great deal but postage to NI is ££££££££££ :(

Found a stack of ip4500s for ~£70 odd. A better bet, even with the £20 off I think.

Local printer cartridge store. Talking to the sales assistant it looks like they snapped up the last 50 units EOL. I'll probably go up there and buy one next month.
