Agreed. Excellent price but the cost of toners negate the great price. I looks like you are better off with this model if cosr per page is important

Had the Dell for over a year now, toners are cheap, the Dell is a much better investment IMO.

I've just decided on the Dell. The Canon is neater but I couldn't bring myself to pay so much for toners. I've had a Samsung mono laser printer for years which I have only had to refill once with toner (approx £7) but now I have a netbook I can't easily print from the netbook. With the Dell I can connect it to my wireless router and then the netbook (and laptop) can print to is in addition to my PC. The Canon can't do this. Here comes colour! Still tempted to buy from Amazon though and get toners when required.

Thats the one I have.
Doesn't do cd/dvd covers though ! Had to buy a Canon Pixma to do those !
But the Dell's compats are cheap, which makes it by a LONG way the better investment.

It's not the OP's fault that manufacturers price it that way. Effectively it is more expensive than new when the cartridges are done so it cannot be freecycled!
