Top end point and shoot compact camera is now £159.97 before cashback and £119.97 after canon cashback:

Packed with advanced capabilities, the silver Canon IXUS 1000 HS Compact Camera is a 10mp camera that sports an impressive 10x optical zoom. No matter where you are standing, a good shot is within your reach. Image stabilisation is on hand to combat camera shake and keep everything nice and sharp.

The IXUS 1000 HS shoots full HD 1080p video. That's the highest resolution you can get for your home movies!

Speed is also one of the IXUS 1000HS's assets. When shooting stills, the high-speed Burst mode allows a rate of up to 8.8 frames per second. And when it comes to video, the Super Slow Motion Movie mode captures 240 frames per second. You can slow down any scene and take a close look at the details!

The IXUS 1000 HS's 3-inch screen has a 16:9 format. This comfortably large display is great for reviewing or sharing your images.

Beginners will not be left behind with the IXUS 1000 HS: hints and tips are present for most options so you can learn to master the camera and boost your creativity.

Go for one of the most trusted names in digital cameras with the Canon IXUS 1000 HS Compact Camera. To boot, the IXUS 1000 HS has great looks.

Some mixed reviews on Amazon but I now own this camera and, IMO, the video quality and stills quality is one of the best from a compact camera.

Might be useful to someone.

great price but very limited stock, I eventually found 2 up north but none anywhere near me
There were a few in my local, Kingston upon thames.
Amazon reviews say it's got terrible battery life - may be worth factoring in a spare battery.

Picked mine up from Southampton today, brilliant deal for a top class camera. Crystal clear pics, loaded with functions. Amazing that £60 will buy you 12MP of run of the mill camera and £120 buys you this piece of quality equipment. Took a fully zoomed pic on a moving train on the way back and the image stabiliser kept it in focus and perfect. If you can get one you will be delighted.
Anyone got their Canon cashback yet? They confirmed via email that they had received my Cashback form, but not had any cheque yet?
My thanks to the OP - have some heat!
Just bought one of these at PC World Team Valley for the princely sum of £119.97.
£40 cashback from Canon will make it £79.97. For that money I think I can live with the short battery life...

In case anyone is interested, Currys at Team Valley have one of these cameras for sale at the same price I paid (£119.97). That is as of about an hour ago. I had a quick look at it - ex display but in good nick with box and all accessories.

Just remember, cashback offer expires 30th June 2011.
