spent most of this week researching dig cameras as need a new one and this the best for it's price IMO.

would have paid £139 for it but got £15 from my amazon credit card this morning so it's only costing me £105 :-D

I voted Hot.
For this camera £120 is an excellent price. I bought my IXUS 70 for more than this a while back. Excellent camera.
You can't vote it cold in comparison to a different camera. Especially a camera with a different manufacturer.
Those two cameras aren't even the same kind. The IXUS is made to be pocketable. That Fuji, no matter how good it is, doesn't look at all pocketable.
For a pocketable camera, this is top notch quality at a great price.

They are not even similar cameras! You may as well say it is not a bargain because you can get a tin of quality street from tescos for 3 quid.

Voted Hot! I bought one of these when they first came out last year and I still think it's an excellent camera! With it's 3" screen and fantastic video capabilities, this is one of the most capable pocket cameras on the market. For this price it's a steal!

Good camera, good price.

They are two completely different cameras FFS. Voted hot.

Voted cold. I bought a fuji 8MP camera for little under £90 in Argos. That was before xmas, I think it has been further reduced.

No-one is doubting you can get higher megapixel cameras for less but if that's all you look for in a camera, well................
Gave this a big HOT vote

You should post this as a new deal! Its an EXCELLENT price. That good i really couldn't resist!!! Thanks for saving me an extra £20.

So just got a Ixus 75, by using a new address with john lewis (email), for £99 delivered, and about £4-£5 of Quidco Cashback! Excellent. So happy

Now... anyone want to buy an Ixus 50??? :-)
#22
Guys wait, so I got my refunds after two calls to Empire Direct, But I bought a different camera in the end as so many replied to the original post saying many had the same problem of the shutter sticking, which was not covered by the warranty. Just a warning although many of you said the 70 didn't have this problem.

and I have one and although it's great taking random photos of things close up, i'm getting photos equal to that of my last camera phone outdoors (that's if they're not blurred so much they're unusable)

Hmmmmmm.

[SIZE=2]John Lewis will not pay cashback on Wedding Gift List orders.
The use of discount codes and vouchers will result in your cashback being declined.
But no harm in trying

I have one of these cameras and it is really good. If your after a relatively compact camera that takes quality photos then you can't go wrong at this price! Try sticking it in Vivid colour mode for outdoor shots.

when buying this at amazon you add the body glove case that normally costs £12.91 for free.great camera the 75.voted HOT.

Great camera. Bought it for xmas for £139 and was worth every penny - just check the reviews. If you can now get it for less then it is even more of a bargain.

Great deals, great camera - thanks.

Just remember that the Ixus 75 lacks an optical viewfinder, the payback being a slightly larger viewing screen. The Ixus 70 is the one to go for if you need an optical viewfinder, though you're unlikely to get it for this price at the moment.

Hm i think it still works. I ordered a Wii and used a code in Novemeber time, and thats been validated - not paid yet so not complete, but dont think it would have been validated if they don't do it with vouchers.

Anyways, its still a great deal :-)!

if you bought it from amazon claim the difference back under their 30 day price reduction policy.

I'm interested in this but I tried the IXUS 70 last week and the orange flash was too strong for my daughter's eyes and so it kept making her squint.

Does this have the same bright orange flash?

Do all modern compact digi cameras have a bright orange flash??!!?

(Please excuse my ignorance, I've not bought a new digi camera for a few years!)

Thanks.

That is exactly why I chose to buy the IXUS 70. Being able to turn off the screen can save heaps of battery. The screen size and optical viewfinder and a slight variation in size are the only differences between the IXUS 70 and 75.

My family finds using machsticks to jam our eyelids open simply solves this problem.

Yes I expect that this will have the same AutoFocus Beam as the IXUS 70.

Did you know that you can turn the orange beam off with the IXUS 70 and 75?

Wahey, just got one of these from John Lewis using the £20 off first time buyer voucher and an additional % off (not sure exactly how much, it's a bit confusing) with Quidco.

It's to replace our Nikon which has always been a complete pain in the ass with it's severe recycling lag when on flash.

Oh no! I've just noticed that in the above review it says...

Where it is not so hot:
Slow shutter response with flash

Which as mentioned, is the exact reason why I want it to replace our Nikon!;-)
