infact, same price (with p&p) but cheaper if we order more stuff (since the p&p is absorbed in the price of other items):

Just checked the review here: http://www.cameras.co.uk/camera-reviews/canon-ixus-75.cfm

Looks like this is a really good all rounder:

Verdict: The Canon IXUS 75 is simply the best pocket sized digital camera I have tested recently. It did well in just about every test I put it through. I was impressed with my test results in lowlight as well as outdoors. Add in the 3 inch screen and you have an excellent camera. Recommended.

Only downside being slow (1.07sec) shutter speed when using flash.

Heres a link to a brief video overview http://www.cameras.co.uk/videoguides/canon-ixus-75.cfm

Still think for an extra £2.12 I would give my order to Ebuyer as Amazon have stiffed me on too many things in the past - the swines!

If you want a Canon camera and aren't in too much of a hurry, then it might be worth waiting until Easter, as Canon quite often do some really good Cashback deals oevr bank holiday weekends. It's always possible that they won't this time, but it might be worth the wait!

EDIT: Not trying to take anything away from this, it is a good price!

Paid £200 in December? This was £100 over Xmas from John Lewis and other places, both myself and my sister got one. They are great cameras but do work better with a few manual adjustments.

What!!! Are you sure? This camera has been available online for months at less than £150. It was even on offer for £115 in December and well advertised several times before Christmas on HUKDs.

Personally, this is a poor deal. It's more expensive than it has been and you can get the far superior IXUS 950ti for only £166 here:

Even Canon themselves recommend it should be no more than £189 on their website:

http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/Digital_Camera/IXUS/Digital_IXUS_75/index.asp

Plus it was about £100 over Xmas as others have said, it's a good camera though.

do so many people need to pile in telling this poor soul they paid too much in December? it's sickening enough for us bargain hunters to realise we've paid too much for something without all the 'I paid £100!' gloating... :)
#12
Amazon where doing this for under £120 with a free case and 1 gig SD card. only recently.

How's the battery life these days with the Ixus range.

I always found my old 55 a little poor compared with competitors for how many shots on one charge it could take. Eventually switched to my current casio which can do over 500 on one charge, but still miss the quality of my Ixus.
#14
Personally I find it excellent. I don't take a lot of pictures in 1 day, but compared to the PowerShots I've always had too with NIMHs, this has always been loads better.
#15
Cold I'm afraid. Been on offer for cheaper than this a lot over the past 6 months.

I've been looking into this camera for a few weeks now, that's what the price has been for a couple of weeks as well so nothing new. I want to get the waterproof case also but its too damn expensive. Canon ixus line is great though, i've tried the model before it so this is a good upgrade.
#17
Pay the £33 extra for the 950ti and you'll get a better len, vibration reduction, and a much better build of camera.

It is possible to (kindof) get the IXUS70 for £102.43 via euroffice and quidco.
IXUS 70 Silver Camera £109.99 + VAT = £129.24
13% Quidco cashback = £16.80
Add a £10 free voucher = £10 (the 20% off doesn't work for this camera)

£129.24 - £16.80 - £10 = £102.44

As I say 'kindof' as it relies on you having a use for the voucher and quidco tracking working.

I suggest you hold on for a couple of weeks as the new Canon Ixus 80is is due for release in March which will probably see further reductions on this camera. The Canon Ixus75 was indeed around £119 in December so the price has increased again to £135.

I'm thinking that this is a great deal and deserves some heat...Have been looking for a tasty camera for a while and having had an Ixus before (and much more of a price tag attached) i'm sold...nice one!
#27
how can people mark it hot its generally available at £135 all over just google it
#28
Excellent camera, but not for that price. I was one of the many who got one from John Lewis when they were £100 delivered.
#29
Yep, I ordered one from John Lewis for £99 delivered (with £20 voucher, obtained via this site).

Nice camera though :-D
#30
It's about 3 year old now, good for it's time but outdated now. I paid £200 fro an 850is in Jan 2006 which is far bettter. Look for one of those or similar. The IS means image stabilasation which means you can use it indoors without the flash
#31
very good camera paid £99 from john lewis a while back

But as we all know prices fluctuate everywhere..people are saying Amazon put their prices up before they go down and John Lewis are no acception! Check it....

I know I've already said this, but there's a good chance that Canon will have one of their Cashback Offers on again at the Easter Bank Holiday, which usually produces some really good offers. Personally I'd consider waiting a couple of weeks, just in case. Lets face it, if somebody buys this now, and then realises they could get £30 cashback in 3 weeks time, they're going to be gutted.

Does the Ixus 75 take normal 2GB SD cards?
