Well my brother-in-law wanted the silver version which was also at this price but when he went to order it had gone up to £127!

So it is a gambol you must take! I would just go for it as soon there will be none left!

I can confirm this is a nice camera as I have the silver version.

That is a US model the UK equivalent is the IXUS 870 and costs £185 so is hardly spending "just a bit more"!
#11
How is this compared to Sony W130 ? The specs are quite similar, how about the image quality, any1 tried ?

When I was looking to buy I compared images from the Sony W130, W150 and W170 models but I was put off by the poor low light noise and "over processed" look. They seem fine in daylight but as soon as the light goes down then the so does the picture quality. I also don't like the more expensive Sony memory cards as this pushes the price up.

can anyone recommend a good sd card now for my new camera?:)

Coincidentally enough, I found this last night when looking for price comparisons for this very camera, but had never heard of the company and one of my 1 year olds decided to waken up nice and grumpy so I didn't get the chance to research it any further.

If you don't fancy the grotty pink (which I certainly don't), then it'll cost you a tenner more for it in different colours at Jessops. Or £11 for the seemingly Jessops-only IXUS 82 IS (Blue). I reckon it's worth the extra to spare my blushes every time I go to take a photo :)

They (Jessops) also have 3% quidco.

This is looking like the camera to replace my dear old Finepix 610 which croaked on Xmas morning. Unless anyone can recommend anything different?

Cheers,
Gerard

I have one of these cameras and I think its brilliant. Its my 6th Digital so I have some experience.
A friend of mine payed £170 for one this summer and was very pleased with it.
I also got the pink one as it was cheaper, but I think it looks really good, even for a boy.

Real bargain at this price.

I was going to buy one of these it is an exceptionally good camera. But I did a little research on the camera and apparantly most canon cameras including this model are prone to an E18 error which is a lens error which asks u to restart the camera but on a lot of occasions restarting the camera does nothing. And canon do not like to fix this under the warranty and apparantly try to blame the customer by saying there is sand or dust etc trapped in the lens which is causing the problem

Well I have had a few Canon compact cameras as have my friends and relatives and none has experienced any errors at all. As with any mass produced item there will be some that fail, mostly from poor handling, than bad design. In fact I usually have to had them down as they don't break before I want a new model with better resolution or more features!
#25
You can 't beat the Canon Ixus range, great cameras!
#26
Great camera, if you're looking for a good SD card to go with, I highly recommend one of these,

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3439747/SanDisk-Extreme-III-4GB-SD-HC-Memory-Card/Product.html

It's what you need, a fast SD card with lots of storage space (4GB) at a really good price, £12.49.
#27
how shows 89£
#28
The price I quote includes postage. The £89.99 on the site dose not include postage.

Good news the Silver version is now showing at £89.99! Buy one fast!

Price gone back up to £125 now so deal expired!
