Top notch printer. Forget yout Epson SX515's and other cheap and nasty printers, this is the dog's danglies and it's the cheapest I've seen it yet. For people who want to be able to print lab quality pictures at home this is the printer to get.

Put my actic suit on in preperation for the cold voters because it's a printer that costs over 50 quid .....

Why are people voting this cold?? This is a great price for arguably the best affordable home printer.

They're voting cold because it's a printer costing more than £50, happens everytime with printers. Nobody ever posts to say they've found it cheaper, they just vote cold so it's no surprise to me.

But if it helps just 1 person then it's all good :)
#3
Voted hot, great price - but as killie99 said, you will struggle to get the uneducated crowd on here to appreciate the value.
I always thought voting cold meant the same product was cheaper elsewhere
#4
Agree, people will vote on the price compared to budget printers and not on the actual quality of this printer. Hot for me. If anyone c an find it cheaper then please say so
#5
Great price!

I see that it prints onto CD/DVDs too - which I always consider a big plus point. Pity though that the ink tank has now increased to 6...

Why? It now has a grey cart which means you can now print perfect B&W prints instead of having a colour cast to them. IMO the 6th cart is a huge plus point not a negative.

Great price....bought mine for £129.59 last week and that was a very good price. Amazon have refunded me the difference though. This is at least £20 cheaper than anywhere else.

6 original inks can be had for about £45 - £46 if you shop around by the way.

Ordered!!

Damn you guys making me spend money. Reviews seem really good. I had one of these before (not all in one) and it seemed really good :)
#9
Ordered, been looking at these for a while- thanks OP!
Don't know why this is cold - I guess people like cheap printers that aren't as good!

Does anyone have any recommendations for photo paper - never had a photo printer before.Do people normally buy all different sizes, or is it more cost effective to buy A4 and cut? Also, should I stick to Canon paper or are there less expensive, but still good quality examples? Where's generally best to buy?
I'll probably want to make some good quality prints for framing, but also some 'ok' quality for snapshots / kids projects / photography course etc.
Thanks in advance, RV

Would rather have this £85 plus it has fax, Duplex & ADF which the canon does nothttp://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003VQPR1C/ref=asc_df_B003VQPR1C2245858?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=****&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B003VQPR1C

I guess it depends on what you want.

Does the HP print to discs?
Thought not, so I would rather have the Canon.

That is not a photo quality printer, don't care what they say in their blurb. It only uses 3 colours rather than the 5 that a photo printer requires.

HP is more of a home office machine + it's massive.
Canon is a much better photoprinter + prints on CDs. Has a more family friendly profile.

Now reduced to £118.98 at Dixons - so comes out about £107 after the 10% voucher (DXPRINT10).
Canon MG6150

I went for the epson PX720WD at £116.28 (£104.65 after the voucher), which also seems a good deal.
Epson PX720WD

Photosmart mentioned above also cheaper with the dixons voucher.
#15
Now £107.08 at Amazon too!
Maybe a bit of a price war - perhaps should have waited.

Each to their own, I have never had an issue with mine for photo quality, and find this much more useful than the the Cannon mainly due to the Duplex and ADF.

The description on amazon.co.uk says the following:

"Efficient 6 Single Ink System and duplex printing for reduced waste: Thanks to six separate ink tanks, you only ever need to replace an ink cartridge when it runs out, reducing waste and optimising ink usage. Coupled with Duplex Printing which allows printing on both sides of paper, you can save money, reduce your paper consumption and help the environment in the process – all without compromising on print quality."

Does it really have duplex?

Great price. Bought mine a while back. Can't fault it! Heat added.

Anyone know the cheapest place to buy inks from?
#22

This is hilarious...by far the best high quality all in one printer out there for this kind of money (in fact, its good value at £140!)....and it gets 12 degrees of heat. Go figure.
#26
it went to -45 last time I listed it at £131 a couple of months ago!

On the other hand 1 person finds some manager special at 1 tesco store, they have 1 in stock and it goes to about 1000 degrees ....go figure oO

Brilliant printer, my IP4500 is slowly dying so might go for this!

Do it....my ip5000 was still working perfectly, but I wanted a scanner as well...prints perfectly to discs without having to change the colour settings as well.
#29
..and I've bought to replace my iP5200 - which still works OK :)
#30
I've just bought this and came back here to see if posted - overall looks an excellent bit of kit. Should be able to get £50 back from fleabay for my IP4500 and spare inks. Off to 7dayshop for the new inks now.
#31
....be careful when you get the inks from 7dayshop....the microchip had come off the magenta cartridge, so I've had to send it back and they are sending me a replacement.
#32
Price now higher via another retailer however can order at the Amazon price with a 1-3 week dispatch date.
#33
In stock again at £107
#34
Expired, back up to £129.55.
