Anyone costed up a set of ink cartridges for this yet ?

buy it bin it best way! Awful for the environent but take them to the local recycling center and they will be resued by someone in China! Pobably where it came from in the first place.

Terrible but true. I bought 3. when the cartidges run out, I'll take them to Tesco for CC points. I'll drop the printer into cancer research and open my next one.

:whistling:

It does come with one of each cartidge right?

More expensive than Crack but with a fuller body and more pungent overtones.
For some reason that last sentence makes me think of Amy Winehouse. Possibly something to do with the pungent body and fuller overtones no doubt.

It takes small and medium size cartridges so not especially economical. Play had a deal recently for the medium size black at £11 I think.

Awful for the environent as you acknowledge. Then why do it? To save a few quid? It's hard to blame people who aren't that aware of the issues. When someone shows themselves aware but selfish and uncaring, well they are easy to blame. I don't like dishing out blame, but in your case, by encouraging people to do this, I think it is well-deserved.

Monkeynuts too; "Terrible but true"

The carts that come with the printer have only 5ml of ink and a full one has 16ml of ink.

yes, and you can refill them yourself. There are refill kits on ebay and elsewhere.

If I bought 2 of these would I be entitled to two £20 cheques or just the one?

Think you'd need to but them separately to be safe - i.e. not on one order. Perhaps one with your card and one with the partner's (if you have one, that is!) to be even safer??

You could buy 100 of them and make a 100 cashback claims. Its one claim for each item purchased...seems clear enough to me.

Excellent scanner/printer and especially for the price. I got one a couple of weeks ago from PC world who did the pricematch with amazon. I also already got my £20 cashback through the post from Canon (takes about 2 weeks turnaround). To people complaining about the price of ink carts just by the refill packs!. I have another Canon in the house which uses the same carts and have refilled them several times over the last year and a half with no issues. Total spend on ink refills so far is only about £18 and thats heavy use over 1.5 years, bargain!.

You should be fine. They check your claim against a database of individual serial numbers attached to the printers themselves.

Careful if you're thinking of buying more than one, the t+c clearly say:
Only one £20 cheque will be issued per claimant per product.

anyone know if pcworld would price match this? If so we're looking at paying £13.50 if thats true.

There are continuous ink systems out there for this printer... would never have to really pay for ink again. If someone has a link for this model that would be great :)

The PG37's that come with the printer actually hold 11ml of ink.
The CL38 holds 8ml.

The other cartridges you can buy for this printer are th higher yield PG47 and CL48, which are 16ml and 12 ml respectively.

They're not on the list here http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/editorial/price-match-promise but it doesn't say it'a a Web only deal so should be OK.

Just ordered one. Heat & rep added. :)

Also, contrary to the spec on the dixons website, you can copy without the pc.

I got one of these from amazon on the 6/3/08 my £20 cheque arrived on Friday

These were on Ebuyer for the same price (with the voucher too), I think they were dropped a few days after the offer though :\

5% off if you have an egg card remember. I forgot about that - going to cancel at 9am and reorder.
With egg it works out at £12.94 including delivery

I was watching that happen too!! :)
It seems they were in the process of putting the price up. For a while it listed £39.46 on the main page for the printer but when you clicked buy and checked out it came out as £29.46. I just managed to place the order via egg in the last few seconds it seems and it confirmed payment of £32.94 and just received the email notification of that too. Will be cancelling the quidco order. I confirm this has expired now though.

Thanks!! Given you rep for the heads up on that!! Made me act with more urgency!!

Can't you just take the cartridges to your local computer shop and get them to refill it for you for two quid or so? (That's how much mine charge me.) Or are these Cannon cartridges non-refillable?

Not many computer shops offer that kind of service to be honest - you're quite lucky. My local shop is pc world and they don't :p

I bought one for my father and received the cashback although it did take over 4 weeks I seem to remember. Did you receive an email confirmation?

to be safe, phone the canon number on the form and confirm they have received your claim. I did that and they confirmed in a few seconds with my postcode. You'll still have time to resubmit if not.

My mistake I just checked and didn't find an email, I was confusing it with my HP cashback which they confirm via email and then a month later in my case a cheque appears. Sorry about the mistake, I don't mean to worry people.
