Prone to blocked printer head - It has happened on the 2 I have, easy to solve though.

Cheap Inks, good ink use.

How long is too long ? and presumably the fix is to run a print head clean ?

How long is a piece of string!? Sometime it seems a matter of a couple of weeks, other times leave it weeks, and it will just clear!

Had so many printers clog up....my usage can be very intermittent, and now I tend only to buy HP printers, so the heads are replaced with the carts... BUT they are silly prices :-(

nope it stays blocked even after runing all the types of clean multiple times! Wasted loads of ink and paper. For me it was the blue ink. Just wouldnt unblock at all.

My solution was simple. Remove print head & inks (!), spray window cleaner into the print head and wipe with a micro fibre cloth, rinse cleaner out using tap water, repeat. Took 10-15 Minutes to fully clear it. Then dried it out as much as possible using a dry cloth being careful not to damage it by pressing in the nozzles and then put it back in the printer along with inks. Worked fine. Being unblocked since I did it. Someone on a forum suggested doing it using deionized water but I couldnt be bothered and I doubt it made any difference, print quality superb anyway.

Last Brother printer I had, they were WELL impossible to access t do even this much... I finally assumed the plastic casing was glued/welded and threw it in the bin :-(
