The price on this has just been reduced further to only £49.99 delivered. It's another 'pink' item so may not appeal to everybody.

750 Bonus points available also - Use code TJAF57

It also comes bundled with a free case - Tailor made, Black, functional soft case specifically designed for Canon Powershot A-Series cameras.
- Bookie

Seems to be a problem with the 750 point code so attaching a 500 pointer as an alternative.

Excellent price for this Bookie  Nice find!

I think the £200 price tag must be from about two years ago.

And its pink!

Still a good deal for a female

I've spoken to 3 different stores and none available in the ones I've tried. Might be worth making a call to check though.

Shame i dont need a camera, quite want it anyway!

I've had a peek on the net for reviews on this camera and found a good one here I hope that helps someone. It seems the original price of £199 was somewhat optimistic as i've found the camera sells for about £115 on most sites. Still a bargain though!

Is it a good camera?

Featuring a 4.0-megapixel CCD, 4x optical zoom, automatic exposure control with a wide range of preset shooting modes, and a real bargain price, the PowerShot A430 does a great job of holding up Canon's sterling reputation at the low end of their line. Built on the same long-tested design as many A-series predecessors, the Canon A430 delivers a lot of features, great image quality, and tremendous value in a compact package designed for novices (no matter the age). I'd like to see it equipped with a (much) more accurate optical viewfinder, but other than that, what this camera does, it does very well. With an initial suggested retail price of just $179 (and widely available online for much less), the A430 is an especially good bargain for an all-around consumer model. Overall, a solid replacement for the previous A410 model, and one of the best cameras on the market in its price range

If I was looking for an entry level digital camera this is certainly one I would like to own. Picture quality is the most important factor of any digital camera and the Canon Powershot A430 clearly outperforms many much more expensive cameras in this area.

Boots are notorious for trotting out the original prices for goods.

£300 camera now Half Price @ £150!

And like other posters have said most other firms have been selling them for far less. Good price for a £50 camera that I may get for my monster.

1.8" LCD is pretty lame, and 4mp pretty low (must be an old model?) but otherwise decent (not great, not terrible) specs. perhaps the image quality will be better because the lowe MP means, for the same size sensor (if that is the case), each pixel will be bigger in area, meaning a better signal to noise ratio (SNR).

HOWEVER the best pocket digicams for low-light are still the fuji f20 series et. al - much, much, *much* cleaner images than anything else bar a DSLR (and it that realm, canon have everyone else beat hands down at the moment)

My brother is looking to get a camera and is willing to spend £100-£120ish. Can anyone recommend a good one in this price range?
#20
In my experience Boots have been very good at giving refunds and free returns. Can't see a problem if it doesn't meet up to your expectations.
For the overall price and quality it looks a good deal.

The original voucher posted for 750 points works if you add cheap item (ie paracetamol) to get it over £50. Thanks to OP for great deal on entry level camera.

Don't forget this deal includes a case 500/750 boots points and is 20 quid cheaper than the A460. I think both the A430 and A460 retail around the same mark anyway.

Thanks for the info all the same :)

Mine's just arrived - Anybody else get two cases with theirs?? :-D

I bought 2 of these for my kids about 3 or 4 months ago from ASDA for £40 (each). Ok it was silver on not red, but the camera is the same. Deal posted on this forum:

Quite rediculous to quote £199..... I only paid £117 for my 10MP A640

Yeah - I know the RRP is way wrong, it should be more like £80 at todays prices - it's the final price you pay that counts.

The free case (s) are Canon branded Soft Case DCC-400 so that would set you back £10+ so I guess the deal you quoted is pretty much on a par with this apart from the Boots points and Quidders you get buying it from Boots rather than the Asda deal.

Both good deals mind for a decent camera :)
