Fantastic camera this, incredibly underrated.

It's fast (1.5fps, full resolution), has some fantastic creative modes (check out colour accent), and has an excellent quality lens.

5MP is enough for most people, and is more than enough for a 5"x7" print. Optimum for this size is 3.15MP.
Full VGA movie mode, with audio. Only limited to size of memory card for how long you can record. 10mins/GB.

I'd highly recommend.

Fantastic deal.
Was just about to order 10 of these from Dabs @ £70 each.
Saved me a small fortune.

Why does anybody need 10?

Looks quite chunky? About twice as thick as the ixus 70 according to specs, is this right?

Probably, the ixus are quite slim

This is still a smallish camera, not so much for the pocket, more for the bag

dont get this it is like a bigger

lol sorry keyboard messed up

i was saying dont get this its like a bigger version of most cannon cameras, it has the right features and quality but it looks like a big brick. very very bulky and weighs tons

its like those old 35mm brick cameras ages ago

Good in daylight, but bad flash and low light shooting

I got the A430 from Asda for £40 about a year ago. It's first class - was an amazing deal - think I got it here or MSE

I got this a couple of months ago from argos in the printer and camera bundle they had for £69.99. I had an ixus 40 before this which my other half nicked to use at work and the photos the A460 takes are better. It is a bigger camera but it's still lightweight enough to carry in a pocket or bag. The photos I've printed on the selphy printer I got with it come out very well, and you have the option of taking and printing photos in sepia and black and white too.
I take lots of indoor photos for ebay and these have come out clearer too - the camera shake is better controlled than on the ixus 40.
I expect an ixus 70/75 to take better photos but they are more than twice the price - I was very pleased with this, especially as we got it as an 'it'll do until I can afford an ixus75 camera' !!!!!

Decent camera for the price, but pretty grainy in dark light on auto, even with the flash.. make sure you learn how to use the program or manual mode, can't remember which ones this camera has and set the iso to 100 when taking night flash photography and you'll be fine. Shame 'cos Canon are usually pretty decent with handling low light in auto.

Also you'll have to get some decent rechargable AA's as they will munch through you're bog standard un's.

Not being pessimistic, just my thoughts on the camera from what I've seen of it ! Can't complain for that price though and overall it is a decent camera!

Why does anybody need 10?

I work in a school and a department has asked for 10 of them.
So it hasn't saved money for myself personally, but it has helped me saving money on our overall budget

I guess I should have posted this myself after mentioning it this morning. COmbination of lazyness and being a bit too busy at work I suppose.

Obviously got to vote hot!

An older camera - but it will still cover 99% of peoples needs.

Can anyone confirm if this still works?

Thanks. Got one for the kids:thumbsup:

Update: noticed that what you see through view finder is not what gets printed/displaced on the lcd screen, also a slight delay between taking shots. Otherwise not too bad for the price and kids. Can't remember if it's been mentioned or not, argos had it on for £69.99 (including a small photo printer)

see her for argos deal
see here for 7dayshop deal still 49.99 but not sure if it includes postage

Now £62.95 for blue and £69.99 for red.

The red is back again at £49.99 delivered. Great little camera too :)
