Got one of these last year from Argos for £60 quid. Top camera. Excellent quality. Excellent photo quality.

an ok deal, this is pretty much what cameras that take AA batteries and don't do 720p video cost. If this had a battery pack and 720p video then i'd be drewling!

 Yea and you'd be paying much more than this if it could.

Actually I agree if it had full HD video and a Carl Zuss 50mm lens I would be screaming red hot.

yep, hence why it would be a good deal, battery pack cameras with 720p cost £110 usually, they have been that price for well over a year now, its a shame the manufacturers are purposely keeping those high in price :( Was hoping for 5x optical IS with 10+ mp, 720p for under £100 by now, guess i'll keep waiting, my 8mp, 3x optical non-720p panasonic with AA batteries will have to do me a few months.

p.s who is carl zuss :P Is he the boyfriend of carl zeiss?

What do you do when the battery pack runs out?
AA's for me.

battery packs last sooo long in comparison, i never need to take more photos in 1 time than a battery pack can do. Also you can buy longer lasting battery packs than the standard 1 that comes with it. No need for a seperate charger either as you can often charge them using the camera itself. You can buy pretty cheap 3rd party additional power packs too like you can with AA batteries :)

Dont kid yourself, not THAT much longer as some would have you believe ;-) comparing battery life of an AA in my old Canon and Battery back in my bro;s Pannie, couldn't really tell the difference in all honesty.

I bought one the last time this was posted on a good deal price...can say its a great camera...definately a good camera to have around...the market its aimed at isn't looking for 720p ...get a pack of 6 quality rechargeables and charage some while using the others...simple :)

Can you? I've never seen one - the third party ones may say they are better but they never are. And anyway, the same would apply to AAs.

What - does it have a little handle on it or a small nuclear reactor inside?

Is that a bit like 'drooling'?

Good brand, OK camera, OK price. If you can find another 30 quid the Panasonic posted today is WAY better!

So did I till I dropped it on holiday in Madrid and it broke!! :whistling:

Cracking camera though really... takes good quality non blurred pics even on 10x zoom (with no tripod).

Also I FILLED a 2gb memory card of pictures with this camera using two 2000 rechargable AA's so I thought that was Very good... and it was only just running out of battery when I killed the camera (I wasn't looking where I was going trying to delete a couple of pics off the memory card).

The videos however... not great though lip synch etc is fine, just the pic quality not the best. Would post a link to vids I shot of Madrid with the camera and put on youtube but don't think it'd be allowed on here. I've had a better camera years ago that shot excellent quality vids (not HD was before that was about!)

I think you can get rechargeable AA's , so there is your battery pack that is also available in most supermarkets/corner shops all around the world.
