Looks like there's a typo in there t&c's for this promotion:

2.2. Purchases must be made between Thursday 3rd May & Tuesday 29th May and Thursday 24th May & Tuesday 29th May to take advantage of this promotion.

should read:-

2.2. Purchases must be made between Thursday 3rd May & Tuesday 8th May and Thursday 24th May & Tuesday 29th May to take advantage of this promotion.

Yep - looks like it's a deal to cover both of the May bank holidays :)

T&C for cashback require receipt for purchase which might be a problem since the items i have purchased from eBuyer using Google Checkout have not included any receipt!

Good price Bookie :)

It asks for a receipt or valid proof of purchase, which is slightly different. Should be OK.

This is an absolutely stonking deal, the camera is a very highly praised model. Pity i bought it 2 months ago for £120 after all sorts of discounts. Its an excellent camera which gives you very good pictures in auto mode, its very quick with very little shutter lag so you dont have to wait ages between taking shots and you wont get blurry pictures.

That's a great deal, I've owned a couple of Powershots (and still have my 630 model) before upgrading to my Pentax DSLR. If you want a great point and shoot but with the option to use and learn about the manual settings, you can't go wrong with the Powershot range.
#11
Can't rate Canon Powershot cameras highly enough. I've had two of them so far and will probably always buy Canon in the future. Great deal. Worth checking that ebuyer is a "participating retailer" (see t's &c's) with Canon first though.

Nice find Bookie. :) H & R left.

From T & C's "2.12. This promotion cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion whatsoever."

Just for clarification, I take it this would mean I couldn't use this cashback offer in conjunction with, for example, Jessops own voucher codes. Quidco would be OK though wouldn't it? :?[SIZE=2]

What about Google Checkout??

The main part of this deal is the cashback from Canon - if you refer to the t&c's it states 'participating retailers'.

I have spoken to Canon and they advised to contact Ebuyer direct to check whether the camera was part of promotional stock. This is the reply:-

Dear bookie

Thank you for your contact with our Customer Support Team.

quickfind code: 117552

There is currently no offer listed on this item. Please be assured that any available offer on any item will be noted accordingly on the EBuyer website.

Canon gave Jessops, Dixons, Staples, Office World and PC World as safe retailers but wouldn't confirm on ebuyer so be careful if you're relying on the cashback. I haven't checked prices elsewhere but suggest you give ebuyer a miss because of the response above.

HTH
#15
i have the a620, amazing camera so this is a great deal!
#16
I did a quick kelkoo search and no where came close to ebuyer, even with the £50 cashback you can get it the same price on ebay :( I didn't look for long mind
#17
If they say participating retailers in the T&Cs then they should clearly show who these retailers are without us having to guess or trust what someone tells us over the phone. Unfortunately, my psychic powers have been on the wane recently so I need them to spell it out. I would hate to buy a camera then find that Canon renege on the cashback offer because the retailer isn't a participant in their promotion.
#18
:-D

Agree with that!! There's a freephone number you can call which looks to be Canon's cashback promotional team - a company called PWA - 0800 169 7066. I tried just after 5.30 pm this afternoon and no reply so must be 'regular' office hours. Worth a shot and if anybody gets anywhere with it please share with the rest of us.

Cheers.

Voted Hot - i have the Canon 620 - 7mp - it is an excellent camera and i paid nearly £200 (i have had it quite a while" would always but a canon camera. I had a pentax and that was RUBBISH and just suddenly stoppped working.
Excellent for Christmas present!

I just rang PWA who said that as long as you have a receipt (or proof of purchase) it should be ok wherever you buy it from - I mentioned ebuyer in particular and they just said "yup, online retailers are included". Still not 100% sure but it was enough to convince me to order.

That's good news but if you don't want to take the risk it's available at AJ Electronics for £147 (£97 after cashback) and the promotion is clearly stated on the website. 2.5% Quidco for 1st time customers also.

HTH :)

Great deal, took peoples advice and ordered it through AJ. Fingers crossed the Quidco goes through as well since I havent ordered from AJ before. Thank you
#24
No real risk here, they appeared to have updated their claim form to say, after with your original till receipt 'or a printed copy of your order confirmation email for internet purchases' .

So, I just order one to replace my trusty Powershot A40 which ironically, cost more than this. Absolute bargain for an excellent camera.

Oh, and I rang the promoter who confirmed it was OK as long as it was bought from a UK company.
#25
Not sure which one to go through now AJ or ebuer :?

1. AJ have the Canon promotion artwork on their website, eBuyer do not.

2. AJ are listed on the Canon website as an authorised 'etailer', eBuyer are not.

I know which one I'd go with for peace-of-mind!
#27
Yeah your right and it's only 6 quid at the end of the day!!

AJ it is!!
#28
Just bought one from aj and went through quidco too.
Thanks for the advice guys.

Your choice guys but I have had confirmation from Canon and check out the claim back form if you have any doubts. I just ordered from ebuyer.

It is not worth the extra £50 to get the 710IS from Jessops?

£140 after cashback and voucher.

I also ordered from ebuyer

Great find, I just ordered mine from AJ

The Canon website says that the 710 IS is only available from Jessops but it's actually available from loads of places. Does it mean that you can only get the cashback with Jessops? I don't think it does.

http://www.canon.co.uk/powershotpromotion/

Anyway, here's an amazing review. Plus it's smaller than the A630. It has a bigger zoom to.

But can you use the voucher for £10 off? I don't think you can because the Terms & Conditions state:

"This promotion cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion whatsoever."

Canon might just void your claim otherwise.

Many thanks for this .I rang the 0800 number this morning and a nice lady on the phone said they would honour the deal with cameras bought over the net .So, I ordered through e-buyer using the google checkout . Hope everything works out . Personally , I'm not that bothered about the refund as this is a great camera for the money .We have an earlier version at work and it takes astounding pictures .PS .this is my first post ,been using HotukDeals for ages and have had some really nice things , thought I would join the forum tonight .Thanks for all your work in giving us some great deals .

Nice post ricko - hope it works out for you and anybody else who took the plunge. For a sub £100 camera it's the dog's

Many thanks OP, went for the A640 which is the 10mp version.

£189 - £10 for google checkout, then £60 refund (hopefully)

Now I just need to find the damn receipt for the Samsung camera I bought on Saturday so I can return it to Currys

Does anyone know how good they are at taking things back without a receipt (paid for on credit card) thanks?
#39
I am not really sure, but I think you can use bank statement showing clearly that transaction. ;-)

just in case you couldn't find the receipt :)

Yes, it is confusing. The 710is can be found for £175 before the voucher. Which would make it a great deal.
