None available from Argos in my area and none available for delivery at this price.

Likely to take good pics as it's a Canon but very big and extremely ugly. Hope it's good in low light as you wouldn't want to be seen out in daylight with it!

Just kidding - honest.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/canon-sx120-digital-camera-99-99-at/835445 has some links with information on the camera. It was £99 at Argos and then ~£90 at Homebase

a blooming bargain with 10x zoom and canon name!!

Doesnt this take AA batteries? Also I agree it looks ugly.

Virtually identical to its year-old predecessor, the new Canon PowerShot SX120 doesn't represent a worthwhile upgrade for current SX110 owners, but it does remain an affordable and well-specified super-zoom that should appeal to both beginners and serious photographers alike.

The Canon PowerShot SX120 is slightly cheaper than the precious model and offers an extra megapixel, new Smart Auto mode, slightly faster processing thanks to DIGIC 4, and an improved face detection system. Pretty much everything else remains unchanged, with the same appealing combination of 10x zoom, large LCD, easy operation for the inexperienced, and manual modes for those looking for a pocketable alternative to a DSLR.

The negatives are that the Canon PowerShot SX120 eats up alkaline AAs in a couple of afternoons of shooting, the optical zoom still can't be used when filming video, there's no stereo sound or HD movie option in line with some recent competitors, the zoom mechanism is very audible, the wide-angle zoom setting is not really wide-angle by modern standards, and images can be noisy if you stray above ISO 400.

The Canon PowerShot SX120 is a cheap and more than cheerful super-zoom that delivers consistently good results, although slightly more expensive rivals do offer more bang for your buck.

forget the rest, at this price it is the best.
10 x optical, canon badge, user friendly menu. I have the previous model, and will buy this one to have a spare, continue using these for years to come. works fine with AA rechargeables of 2500mAh ; hundreds of pics. Alkalines are not practical in any digital cameras; hence they never put a photo of a camera on them anymore.

Hasn't ever been available instore at this price - but free delivery, so only significant if you can't wait for postage I think.

It's the website I meant that was out of stock - tried different delivery addresses of relatives etc, as stock would come from different warehouses (sounds weird, but that's what they said when I rang up!) but nothing left - ended up buying it from Play.com for £119.99 instead...

I bought one last summer for £140. Excellent budget camera. I don't think it's ugly, but then again I bought it for the photo quality. Only major downside is no viewfinder, but they're all going that way now. I would advise hybrid rechargeables.

Sorry if this is a thicko question, but what are hybrid rechargeables...?

Brilliant camera. I owned the original SX100 IS when it was released. Brilliant. Lovely photos i took with that. having extensively used the Panny TZ's which are also awesome. Myself though I've always preferred the Canon's more natural images, in my opinion. For the price its easily at the top of the pile of compact digital cameras. DON'T forget that it also offers full manual features unlike many of its rivals at the price.

I had an SX110IS & it took fantastic pictures in good light. Battery life was pants though...

Nice big screen, easy to use, lots of features but doesn't compare to the latest wizardry from the likes of Sony & Panasonic.

I suppose the styling is a bit old fashioned...

Its main feature is pretty damn good compared to most other cameras in and around that price range, which is taking photos! You can have a 'feature' list the size of the magna carta but in the majority of instances it dont mean squat because the person holding the camera is the main limiting factor in taking a good photo.

Had tried to buy online but sold out. Tried local stores and tracked some down in Currys In Carlisle. Said after mine they had one in stock, and one on display as of this morning.
