12.1 Megapixels with DIGIC 4 Processor
Delivers fantastic, sharp image quality for prints as large as A3+
12x Wideangle zoom with Optical Image Stabiliser
The zoom lens of the Powershot SX130 IS covers the equivalent of 28-336mm . This accommodates everything from a generous wide viewpoint for striking landscapes, group or indoor photos, to long telephoto, picking out small distant details.
Smart Auto and Easy Modes, or Full Manual
The Powershot SX130 IS in this mode is truly automatic, setting optimum exposure and focus from a choice of 28 scene types.
Records HD movies in 720p quality with stereo sound and optical zoom.
This intelligent technology uses face detection for cues in the frame to start the camera shooting. Three modes can be used:

•Smile Mode – fires the shutter when a subject smiles
•Face Self Timer – when a designated face enters the frame, the self timed shutter sequence is automatically started
•Wink Self Timer – detects when you wink and fires the shutter after 2 seconds

Choose from the following to add a little surprise into your images:
•Miniature Effect Movie – everything looks like a scale model
•Fisheye Effect
•Super Vivid – extra vibrant colours
•Poster Effect – for a great retro look
iContrast
This feature optimises the dynamic range of your images, meaning that highlight and shadow details are retained even in high contrast images like bright sunlit scenes.

•3.0” (7.5cm) LCD Monitor
•On- Camera Hints and Tips
•Full Manual Control

I suggest you don't go near Simpy Electronics, they're a Hong Kong based company masquerading as UK. Check reviews all over the web. Avoid at all cost.

Did you get it fixed under Warranty? I'd say Canon cameras have a pretty good reputation.

The same thing will happen with pretty much any product from any company for the unlucky ones; it's called Life.

Better than after 12 months and a day!

Looks like a big fat lump of a camera for snaps - ugly like most Canons but probably takes good pics.

On the contrary, my Canon A95 5 MP camera lasted for four-n-half years.

Totally agree. This could happen with not just cameras but with any product like TVs, Cars etc. We get to hear that someone's Sony TV broke down or Cars such as BMWs, Hondas broke down within just few months.

Yep, they're the ones which break down! Actually Hondas are pretty good.

Are you claiming that's good? Sounds disappointing to me.

Unfortunately not! I'd barely used it and I've always looked after it well. It was sent off to the repairers and they informed me it was corroded so thus not covered under warranty. Totally disgusted with their customer service and at a complete loss as to how the cited 'corrosion' could have occurred. Unfortunately others have had similar problems:-

The same thing happened to me with my Fugifilm s1750. I've treated it with kid gloves. It's 3 months old and the same result...... "corrosion"!!!
