Reduced further, now £163.89 after £30 Canon cashback, back to 199.80 now, 19/11/10.

Posted after seeing the Panasonic TZ10 from Play. I've used the TZ10 and whilst I don't have an SX210 I've always found Canon preferable to Panasonic cameras though read the reviews yourself if you need to be convinced.
Cashback details are here..

I have the SX200 (older model) and it's a brilliant camera, have some heat from me as this is a fantastic price!

Damn it, why??? Now I cant decide between the Canon (which has some amazing features) and the Panasonic which is on par (just without some of the funky features such as colour swap).

Hot price though.

One thing that people moan about with the canon is you cannot zoom whilst filming... there are software updates available to change this

Looks like the SX210 is capable of optical zoom during video out of the box. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn_vE9UI2Og
Just hit the buy button myself. :)

Great camera for the price, better than the Panasonic TZ10 (refurbished unit) on sale at Play for the same price. This camera has Canon's amazing Divic 4 processor, the same chip that I have in my Canon 60D DSLR and the same used in the Canon 5D etc (but obviously you do get what you pay for), which is far superior to the AVCHD Lite format used in the Panasonic cameras in my opinion, and I've filmed with all formats. I've just ordered one of these as an xmas pressie for a friend!

Just mine then :-( Didint realise they fixed this

Go for the Canon.

I had a Panasonic TZ7 a while back, and sold it within a few months, as the grain in pictures was very noticable in anything other then outdoor sunlit shots.

Do a google search for Panasonic TZ(x) noise, or grain, and you'll see what I mean.

I went back to a Canon, and am very content with it's excellent picture quality.

Humm unsure wether to trade my TZ7 for one?

Easy for me to say as it's not my money though I would as I've used the TZ7 and hated the grain. If don't see the grain though I doubt there's much point.

At first yes... but you quickly get used to it, and i think it's better having the flash that little bit further away from the camera body / lens as you get less red eye and flash reflection from shiny objects

This camera does indeed zoom whilst shooting video footage.

The zoom is fine as there is enough space next to it over the top for you to comfortabbly place a fingertip if that's how you hold the camera. You can also push it back down if it's not wanted which is handy.

I bought this camera about two months ago and it is an amazing piece of kit. The only one problem I have with it, albeit it not a huge issue, is that the zoom button is slightly uncomfortable to use being that it is situatated on top of the camera and is one of those slide ones, i.e you push or pull the button depending on zoom in or out. The button is quite small and can be quite fiddley and slightly irritating. If the zoom button had been on the front of the panel I think this would easily be the best camera I've ever owned. Despite my small gripe I would still throughly recommened this camera to anyone and at this price it really is an absolute bargain!

still seem to be in stock at £199.80 on amazon so still £169.80 with cashback offer, I'm not sure why it is mark as expired ?
#21
probably so that loads of folk don't bombard Amazon for this offer giving them cause to take it away.
#22

We were looking at this in-store today and thought it is a great camera it has one VERY irritating feature. The pop-up flash is at the top left hand corner of the body. Right where just about everyone puts their finger to hold the camera. Even the shop-assistant pointed it out as a nuisance and she was trying very hard to sell it to us!

I've had a lot of Canon cameras, though and always been happy with them.

Lots of info about this, if you don't want the flash to pop up just hold it down when you switch on or lift/press it manually. Apparently Canon have confirmed no harm will be done though please check.
