Ebuyer have this Cantilever TV stand available at the moment. These are usually £100 plus. The TV mounts onto the unit itself, which can help with preventing kids from touching the screen. The chrome pole at the back also makes an effective cable tidy.

These are surprisingly good. Crap instructions and a pain to clean the polystyrene off but for £50 it holds my 26kg 42" plasma well and looks good. Would recommend for the money. No height adjustment tho.

From what I understood, the cables go through the chrome pole. But on the pics I cant see any holes for it so not too sure. Will post back here once I've got mine sorted.

Yes they have a hole. Bout the size of a polo though and therefore impractical. I tape mine round the back hidden by the tv but then I only have 1 power and 1 HDMI (AV amp elsewhere does the rest).

Sure is. Not quite high enough for my centre speaker (q acoustics 1000c if you need to picture it) to sit on it and under the tv but plenty big enough. Mind you this is with a 42" - ymmv with other sizes.

It would probably match the width of the upper shelf so I wouldn't think so.
