These appear to be a bit like those very expensive 'intelligent' ones like CTEK but I don' think they are suitable for permanent connection. Also pretty low current (not stated in ad) so they won't bring a dead battery back very quickly.

Decent price for what it is but make sure it's all you need from a charger.

    Does this have mains connection?

This looks like the model they have previously sold but with an lcd screen instead of an array of LED's for mode selection. I wonder if this is any different? All I know is the one I have works great and I have no need for this :)

Not too sure that would be a good idea. This doesn't have all the clever modes of CTEK, etc. Is anyone expert enough to advise?

Looks like it uses low voltage so maybe there's an adaptor that plugs into the mains.

If it plugs into the main then I might have to get one of these if a jump start fails later. Thanks.

I have a CTEK one and a cheap similar one from Lidl which cost about £12 a year ago, they both work the same. They are both used for charging the batteries in my caravan ~(takes a few days to charge a 110ah leisure battery) and other than the fact that the CTEK feels better built they seem to do the same job. They seem to put more charge into the battery than the normal caravan charger does.

No, one end goes up your ****! What other connection do you think it would have?

lol! Am guessing he is talking about if it connects to another battery rather than mains.

What? You mean it's not solar powered?

A very good buy. Every motorist who counts monies should have one at home.I didn't have it until recently ... and urgent purchase of battery at Halfords cost me dearly (at least £50 more than 'normal price')

Purchased one today. Charging current up to 3.8A at 12v. Also pulse charging for nearly dead battery. Gives out current voltage of battery and condition of charge. Microprocessor controlled. Very much like a CTEK costing £43 at Amazon.co.uk
